21 years of age plus you maybe required to apply for a permit to purchase Assault weapons. Give you local law enforcement office a call they have all the correct information.

If the laws are like they are in Michigan than all you need is to be 18 and have a clean record. An AR15 is semi-auto so you don't need any permit. And the suspension of the assault weapons ban (which outlawed many modifications that had nothing to do with assault weapons) Detachable box magazines are legal again. As they should be.

It's amazing just how many idiots try to pass themselves off as experts when they clearly have no idea as to what they are talking about.

In Utah AR-15s and all other "semi-auto assault rifles" (big oxymoron right there) are classified as long guns, as they should be. All you need to buy one is a form (but bring a few more just in case) of ID proving that you are over 18 years old. And in Utah there are no restrictions on magazines or other fun accessories.

Utah is a western state that supports the second amendment rights of us citizens. I imagine all you will need is a drivers license and a valid credit card. But I would ask you to reconsider and buy an AK47 instead; they are less expensive, the ammunition is cheaper and more available, they require much less cleaning and maintenance and are more reliable under field conditions.

Valid state identification that shows you are over eighteen years old and a clean record. People like to say 'driver's license' but that is not true, well at least not in Texas. No pending tickets is a must and none of that DWI record. An AR15 is semi automatic that means that being an American gives you the right to buy it. Fully automatic takes one more paper to fill out.

Don't buy it though. I'm assuming that if you are asking this question is because you are either testing the system of "yahoo answers" or you have never purchased a gun before. Having the money to buy a gun doesn't mean you can buy one. If you are going to buy one, well make sure you don't act dumb when walking in the store. Act as if you've done it before. Prices on new guns are non negotiable. If you are buying a prew-owned one ask for a discount, but do it like a man don't haggle like a blonde buying a car. Anyway you probably don't even know what one of these things shoots so don't ask what kind of ammunition to buy, instead ask what do you recomend for target practice somethign inexpensive. It will do the same for an intruder in your home. I hope you are not a woman buying this gun.
If you are buying it of a clasified ad on your local paper make sure ang get the persons
name
ID or DL number (thats identification number or driver's license number) and
DOB (date of birth).
The reason for this is because the previous owner may have used it for a crime and ballistics will trace your gun barrel.

Warning! Don't buy from black people. Chinese people will rip you off on the price but they wont try to kill you or sell you drugs. WOW I'm getting carried away here, sorry.

Well my e-mail adress is angelsenterprise@aol.com I know you'll end up selling it within two months. I am a pawn broker ha ha. I'm an enthusiast. I'll buy it from you after you after you use it for one weekend or your wife threatens to divorce you. Don't be dumb, this is way too much temtation for children to have in daddie's closet. The look and feel of an AR15 is awesome. Once you shoot it you'll want to buy another one and tell all your frieands about it. Video tape yourself and impress your woman.

Final taughts, you're tryng to impress someone therefore buy some rims for your truck, if you already have rims lift up the suspension, but if you are really going for it sell it to me afterwards.

Guns don't kill people, crazy people kill innocent people.

Don't drink and drive, don't tell the wife.

OK, bye.
