I do one every year for my grandparents at walgreens.com. It's only 20 dollars. You can start with any month you want. They have different templates for how your pictures will be on that month, for example, if you want just the one big picture verses two side by side, or one large one on the side and two next to that. You can also upload pictures to certain dates in the date squares, like put a picture of someone on there birthday. You can save as you go so you don't have to do it all in one day. There are even different backgrounds to play with. definately worth the time to check out!

I made photo calendars for my parents and my husband's parents last year for Christmas.

I didn't use any special software, and found that printing it myself and paying for the ink cartridges was much cheaper than paying someone like Office Depot or Staples to do it. Plus, I got to make collages of pictures for each month and put in special dates on the calendar instead of just getting a plain calendar with one picture above it.

I used Microsoft Works Calendar to make the actual calendars. I used Microsoft Picture It! to make the picture collages. I set the calanders and collages to fit one page 8x10 each. Then I just printed them out onto photo quality paper (had to do some planning to make sure I got the right pictures on the backs of the right calendar & have everything line up right side up when hanging on the wall) and had them spiral bound at a local office store.

Hope this helps.

Calendars start at $11.29 for 12 months, spiral bound. You can add options like glossy or linen, or larger sizes.

Try www.bephotobook.com.
Snapfish and Mpix also do calendars.
They are fun to make and give, so enjoy!
