regrettably, there is not any such element as a "teacup chihuahua." Chihuahuas do are available in each and every sort or sizes and hues,confident.. yet they're of the TOY kin. A teacup chihuahua is in basic terms the offspring of a small chihuahua.. preferable the breeder to believe that those chihuahuas would be small. even with the shown fact that, through genes handed for the time of chihuahuas, 2 very small chihuahuas could produce larger offspring. A "teacup chihuahua" is particularly in basic terms a ordinary chihuahua that breeders have given a ritzy call to, watching for human beings to pay greater for a pup which would be smaller than the regularly occurring. Even then, your pup could become as much as six or 8 pounds. everybody who's advertising you those domestic canine as "teacup chihuahuas" is already proving their lack of understanding via labeling a canine with a fictional breed. exhibiting their lack of understanding, the breeder has additionally poorly bred those chihuahuas.. preferable to many wellness issues, and in all possibility undesirable features, at the same time with yappy or somewhat mean canine. As you may desire to have the comparable possibility of having a small canine the two way, i could recommend you verify into the chihuahuas costing $a hundred and fifty. those human beings for sure have greater experience.. and look plenty greater responsible.

I use to feel exactly the same way!! When I was younger there was this ugly little chihuahua that use to bark and snap at my feet all the time. I wanted to kick it so bad! Anyway recently I had to sell my Great Dane puppy when I moved into an apartment. I still wanted a puppy that would be less maintanance. So I got a little chihuahua. He's so sweet and everyone loves him..yes even guys. My boyfriend loves big dogs, but he loves my chihuahua too. He sleeps with us..is super playful and loves children. Doesn't bark ..isn't mean and is still a puppy. It really matters how you train them. They are so little and feel threatened very easily. I can't even count how many times I accidently stepped on my dog. So you have to understand that you are this huge species that they don't understand and when they are scared some of these owners aren't handeling it properly. People feel that since he's just a small animal that he can't take care of himself so they pick him up for every little thing..not a good thing to do. You just got let him experience it for himself. Now when I walk he walks behind me so I don't step on him. Live and learn and have a much more understanding dog. He's not gonna bite you if he thinks you might bite back. lol.

The problem isn't the Chihuahuas, it's many of the people that own them. Celebrities have made small dogs popular, and as a result, many tiny dogs, like Chi's are being bred for quantity with no thought given to health, temperament, or socialization. Mix these dogs with clueless owners who treat the dogs like spoiled children instead of actual dogs, and you get nasty, yippy, ugly little Chis. They happen to be 'in vogue' right now. Next year it will be something different.
A well-bred, well-raised Chihuahua is a delightful dog. They are not 'my breed' but there are some lovely ones out there.

I have a chihuahua. Not by choice, she was a stray that no one ever claimed. She is not mean, does not bite, does not shake or get nervous and does not yap all day. If someone comes to my house she doesn't know she is very friendly. She is a great dog and not at all what I thought a chihuahua would be.

I have been noticing that myself, and I tend to like big dogs, so I've never understood the whole yappy little dog thing.
There are some great little dogs that I love, but some have "little dog syndrome" and feel they have to take on everybody.
In fact, just yesterday, my neighbors little yappy min pin bit me on the hand when I went to pet her!!!! What a beeyotch!!
I have NEVER seen a big dog bite when unprovoked. And if a big dig bites, it's put to sleep, and like you said, the little dog gets comforted, and I go home with a bruised hand!
I like NICE little dogs, but the mean little yappers, will forever confuse me.

I think chihuahuas are a "fashion dog" because they're tiny, and as such tend to be owned by people who want an accessory, not a living breathing animal - especially not a dog, which needs the right sort of attention and discipline, not to be carried about like a hairy handbag. Dogs need to be at ground level to sniff and greet other dogs - if they're not allowed to do this, they will become fearful and therefore aggressive.
Once again, the problems that arise from this are not the dog's fault but the owner's!

Lol! You are right. Chihuahuas seem to be all the rave now a days. Little dogs are in. But chihuahuas can be very yappy. And most owners are just dazzled to see their small dog bark at people. But you are also right that that is a bad behavior and is not good for the dog in the long gevity of its life. I had one. It was very protective. But owners can teach their dog to be less yappy.

well i have a chihuahua but i didn't go out and buy her from a breeder i adopted her from a local shelter. I don't carry her around in a purse or anything i just let her do her thing and be like any other dog and not just an accesory to me. So i don't know what's the deal with people toting chihuahua's around just to match their outfit or something.

My Chihuahua is 8 years old. She is so sweet .. good to my kids at all times... never mean to anyone. Rosie is a mix, though.... not so tiny at all. I don't carry her around either.
