not all Officers are required to take a Polygraph. depends on the community. If the Community requires a SSCI Clearance.. yes.

Not to become an officer, but they will sometimes give you a lie detector test to obtain a security clearance.

Only civilian cops have to take lie detectors, the military doesnt believe in them, unless you work real high up in the military but you will be fine.
