No we shouldn't but people should be considerate enough to shut off their engines when having to wait for a while. Some people say that drive thru's are for lazy people but they must not work two jobs and have two kids who are into this sport and that activity and a husband at home who basically works two jobs and three dogs. Some people just want a life outside of working and cleaning house and preparing dinner every night of the week. Drive thru's are quick and easy most of the time but those who are concerned should raise awareness in their community that this is hurting the environment. People will listen, maybe not right away, but eventually word will get around and if not feel proud that you are doing it and helping the environment.

No. There are too many government regulations now. People should use their common sense and turn off their vehicles if they have to wait very long at drive thrus. Like everything else, they (drive thrus) will evolve into some other form and either improve themselves or become extinct. At any rate, I'm against more "bans".

No not at all. Can you imagine how long the lines would be if there were no drive up windows. It takes more gas to shut off the car and restart it then it does idling. And a lot of people call in their orders and pick up their items at shops which is a lot more convenient for everyone.

No. I propose a carbon emission tax of 1-10% on all fast food restaurant (and Starbucks, etc.) drive thru purchases. Use those taxes to fund government subsidies for greenish alternative energy, or even to subsidize solar panels on top of said fast food restaurants. For the people that don't want to pay the tax, they can park their car and walk inside.

No. Please don't ban the drive through windows.

Drive through Windows were created by Bill Gates and you know how smart he is. Windows 98 was perfect example of genius.

Where would I take my girl to eat ? I just found a drive through that furnishes car seat table cloths and candles. I like to go first class like Bill Gates.

Ban the sit down restaurants.

With all the excess fat and sugar in fast food, they need all the exercise they can get, ban drive thru's, make 'em walk to the counter!

We had a debate about this in my city, I think it's currently undecided.

But I think they need to be regulated. If you have them, you should have enough to deal with the traffic, otherwise have none.

Like here McDonalds has 2 order areas, and they can easily rush you through, yet there's an instateller bank machine that's drive up, and it always has cars lined up.

The line ups have to be stopped, not the drive throughs, they need to be regulated to allow for efficiency, rather than just convenience.

Right now they're convenient only, they need to become efficient.

I'd never thought it through so much, so thanks for letting me come to that great conclusion. I hope it helps you.

I live 9 miles from the closest fast food restraurant and when my sons and I pick up trash along the roadside we collect so many wrappers, bags and cups it is enough to make me scream.......It gives the responsible people a headache that these lax few make it bad for the rest of us.
Peace.

If we banned drive-through windows, we wouldn't have the emissions from the cars and our air would be cleaner and if we walked more our a s s 's would be smaller.

No. I always go in if the line is too long and then get out before the cars in-line even get up to the order menu. Then I laugh at them for being lazy and hungry.
