Chihuahua: Breakable, most are crappy bred, yippy, become very attatched to one owner, not friendly with strangers
Pomeranian: Yippy, most poorly bred, lots of brushing out, for the most part friendly, not good with kids
CKCS: Very good with kids if raised properly, easy groom maintain
Cocker: don't even go there, numerous health issues, friendly with kids though, maybe about 10% in this world are properly bred
Dachshund: Pron to back problems, can have probs up and down stairs, friendly, overall pretty cute
Westie: Yippy, not always friendly with strangers and kids, require grooming every 6-8 weeks, cute,
MIn Schn: Lots of grooming (they matt easy), can be okay with kids, but are terriers, so not always very good around strangers, i don't like em, so I don't have any pro's.
Terriers can be territoriel and not good with kids (since kids move funny & arent very gentle). Best bet is a CKC over all those breeds. They are an actual dog (IOW over 10LBS) and are friendly

I like Westies, Cocker Spaniels and Miniature Schnauzer's out of those breeds. Their temperament is much better than the rest of the breeds you mentioned.

Dachshund! Preferably miniature! I have one named Izabelle and she is an absolute dream! She's gentle with my baby sister, sweet, cutely protective, smart, well-mannered, playful, and adorable!!
Here is a little info. on dachshunds:
The dachshund comes in 3 coat types: short, long-haired, and wire-coated. It can be either miniature or standard. Their long backs can give them trouble when they get older, so you must be sure to keep them at average weight. The dachshund isn't much of a shedder, that's always a plus! Miniatures are less than 10 pounds (mine is 8 lb. 12 oz.) and standards can get over 25 pounds.
This translates to: Dachshunds rock hardcore and no breed can top 'em! LOL I'm kidding, I'm sure the other breeds you've mentioned are great dogs too! xD
Good luck choosing a dog! :)

chihuahuas are great but they are balls of energy and get startled very easily, pomeranians are amazingly cute but shead a lot and need a lot of upkeep, the spaniels are amazing companions and are pretty easy to care for but they do shed a lot sometimes, dachshund are adorable and schnauzers are great as companions. otehr great small dogs u might consider are miniature andtoy poodles, they dont shed and are great companions and usually have pretty good teeth the only thing is they are more prone to eye snot...its not a health risk it just needs to be cleaned ever once and a while. i pick poodle but im biased coz i own one

There is a risk of losing the mother dog any time you breed. If you dont want to risk it dont breed her, there are plenty of other puppies, millions of Malteses already in the world. We dont need more unwanted puppies. The animal shelters euthanasia rate is already very high and you dont know that if the puppies survive, they dont someday end up in a shelter and get euthanized. There are more risks invovled in small breeds like a puppy blocking the birth canal, dog may need a csection and she may not or the puppies may not have that and there are even more.

A Miniature Schnauzer is my choice because it's cute, lovable and not to mention adorable! Intelligent and quick to learn. He loves to actively participate in family activities. Mininiature Schnauzers display unbound love and devotion for their family but they'd demand the same in return.

I chose a chihuahua. I wanted a dog with little maintanance and I could take with me places. They are very clingy to their masters but I love it. He sleeps with me and wants to be where ever I am. They establish life long commitments to their owners. He plays with other people but he always comes back to me. I take him to a dog park and he'll run around and play but as soon as he sees me leaving he is right their by my side. Very neat and tidy doesn't make a big mess and doesn't bark a lot. You have to pick a good one though because some can have some bad temperments. I'm lucky I got mine. I do step on him on occasion but he is learning to dodge my steps now.

chihuahua cause my friends had one and they properly socialized it and it was the cutest thing and friendly . so i decided right then and there i was going to get one and socialize it so it would not be nippy and yappy. I did and have been happy ever since now I have 2 . there are no cons to me as they are not a problem. good luck .

I have a Chihuahua and I got him because the breed is very spunky and lively-not to mention oh so cute. If you are listing these as possible dogs for yourself check out dogbreedinfo.com-great web site that offers a lot of information about all these breeds

I like little teeny weeny poodles.
My next door neighbor's dog, a maltese-poodle mix, is a sweetheart. He is apricot in color from his poodle mom, and just the most adorable, loving, smart, and sensitive little guy you ever saw.
