Unfortunately, I have been in this situation. I can say yes I would. Now it was a gradual process. I had to continuously pray and ask God for His help because I could not forgive on my own. But right now, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I would bless him. But it was not me doing it on my own. It was the God in me that helped me do it. May God Bless U.

This is what I am taught to do. However, I have never been in that situation. I do not know how I would feel or what I would do. By nature I am a forgiving person and although I pray I am never going to find out just how forgiving I truly am, I hope to follow in the footsteps of our Amish brothers and sisters who forgave the killer of their daughters.

This has happened to me.
You've got to keep on living your own life, asking God for forgiveness for your own sins. Don't rely on popular opinion, even if it is "religious."
2 Timothy 4:3, 4 shows how people gather teachers around them so as to believe in mythology, which has heroes and villains.
The last days are characterised by the following characteristics. By the way, boasting is, in itself, not really a good way to go about forgiving others. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 shows what those things are.

Well sis, since I'm not a god, I don't really possess the power to 'bless' anybody. If there are actually gods out there, I would think only THEY could perform blessings that would count or have any effect.
Also of course, it would depend on why they tried to kill me. If it was because they were, for instance, trying to stop me from killing THEM, I guess I would have to forgive them. Logically speaking.
Does this answer your question? Goodness I hope so.

Wow ! Thats a tough one, yet it isnt. it is in our best interst to do that, for in forgiving , we are forgiven. Christ showed the perfect example of this when he said forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do. Forgiveness, or blessing someone means giving up all hope of a better past. After the sons of QueenDraupadi were murdered by the heinous Prie, Asvatthama, and he was to be executed for this sin by Krishna, Draupadi beeged that his life be spared, for she had already suffered knowing what it is to lose a son, and did not want the killers mother to experience the same.
Depending on my level of spiritual evolution, this would determine whether I could forgive someone who had tried to kill me. If a person was that angry or crazy that they wanted to do that, then this is an indication that they were already suffering agreat deal, so why make them suffer more. WE hould not tolerate a sin agaisnt another person, but we should be willing to tolerate all transgressions towards ourselves, in order to receive the Lords grace upon us.

If a man tried to kill me, I would undoubtedly forgive him. First of all because it is not my place to take judgement on someone, I'll leave that up to the Lord. But most importantly because you don't usually kill someone because things are going your way, which means that he is probably facing serious problems of his own, just like the rest of us but he has never learned how to deal with them. Would you get mad at a blind man if he ran into you?

If the person asked me for forgiveness, then I would have to think about it...maybe yes, and maybe no. I'm not a skyjockey, so, no, I don't bless.

Yes because forgiveness isn't for the bad man, it is for you. If you don't forgive and let go, then you hold resentment. Which in the end destroys you on the inside, emotionally.
My opinion is, if you forgive someone, then they might find more reasons to forgive themselves also. And 2 lives won't be ruined.

I probably would. It would be difficult but I think I could do it. I have forgiven a man who raped me but there are others I have not yet been able to forgive. I am not Christian but I would "bless" him in the form of my own spiritual practices.

Well you can bless him but it won't help him. If I bless you right now will it help you??? If I curse you right now will it hurt you??
You have to forgive him if you want to be happy and at peace. If not, it does not hurt him but hurts you. See how it works. Just don't trust him with your life. That would be stupid. See site below to become happier and more peaceful (read short article).
