find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Losing weight and keeping it off is about lifestyle, I wouldnt stress too much around your age, your hormones are going crazy anyway, give it a couple years and you will probably drop some weight anyway.
However in the meantime, cardio is always good, power walking (not running) will sit you around the ideal heart rate to shed the fat, especially first thing in the morning, before breakfast (so you will burn fat stores not carbs that you have just eaten) also look at increasing your protein, ie meat, etc, and less pasta, rice potato, eat more frequently, I know this can be a challenge if you are in school, but try and eat smaller portions and more often.
Finally this is a killer because I love my side dishes, but in the evening dont eat any carbs (potato/rice/pasta/bread) you will soon start losing it as you will burn fat while you sleep as your body has no carbs to burn, you wont care if you are hungry while you are sleeping! And most of all stay hydrated, drink 2 or so litres of water a day, I think that about 1/2 a gallon in US scale?
And whatever you do dont starve yourself, or binge eat, this makes things far worse, as your body will store whatever it can when it gets it (as fat)
Good luck!

I'll probably tell you something you already know and that sounds cliche, but i guess it's because it's really the only good way:
Eat healthy foods, watch portions, drink plenty of water and exercice at least 3 times a week.
It'd been the same song all along but if it works why do we try to fix it... good luck to you and have fun while working out

Limit your calorie intake to between 1000-1200 a day and no more than 30 grams of fat a day. READ LABELS! Exercise daily at least 30 min. You will lose the weight but it might take a couple months, just keep doing it and in the end it will pay off!!!

I am 5'2 as well and I weigh 102 pounds. Last summer I weighed about 116, so I've lost a decent amount of weight. This is what I do (the workout is 5 days a week; the diet every day, although I do allow myself to splurge on special occasions).
-I have my bike up on a stand so that I can ride it inside. I ride the bike for 30-40 minutes, starting out slow and increasing my speed to get my heart rate up (I'm usually out of breath and sweating pretty good by the end of it).
-After I get off the bike I do lots of stretching, as well as crunches, pushups, and some stuff for my arms with light weights (you can find good programs for this type of stuff online).
-If you like to watch TV, try to do your workout during your normal TV watching time. This way, you can still watch your favorite shows, but you're working out while you're doing it instead of just sitting there on the couch! Also, we tend to snack while we watch TV, and if you're working out you can't do that!
-For breakfast I usually have a bowl of cereal (something without a lot of sugar and w/ skim milk) and I'll eat a piece of fruit w/ it or put berries on top. Sometimes if I'm really hungry or know it will be a while until lunch I will have a fat free yogurt as well.
-For lunch try to have something filling but low fat and low cal (watch your carbs and sugars as well!)
-1 or 2 snacks during the day are ok (like a low fat granola bar, fruit, pretzels, veggies with fat free dressing... stuff like that)
-Have something light for dinner! Try to eat hardly any fat or carbs if possible. Definitely don't eat anything with fat, carbs, or sugar too close to bedtime! This is one of the worst things you can do!
-Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
-Cut out fast food completely!!! The only thing I would say is ok is a healthy sub from Subway or something like that, and don't get mayo, get a fat free or low fat sauce. Pizza is also ok once in a while as long as you get lots of veggies, soak up the grease w/ a napkin before eating, and don't get extra cheese! Also, only eat a slice (or two if they are small). Most fast food places are HORRIBLE for you. You will get the total amount of fat that you should be consuming in 1 DAY in one sandwhich or burger. It is seriously awful. Also, I've found that once you stop eating it, your body doesn't crave it anymore. It just takes will power for a little while!
-I love chocolate, and if you do too and would have a hard time giving it up, there are great fat free chocolate cookies and low fat, no sugar added chocolate icecreams that you can get (as a treat, not all the time, and try to eat them earlier in the day so your body can burn them off!)
-Also, walk everywhere you can. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. If you have to ride in a car somewhere, have the person driving park farther away in the parking lot. Little things like this add up after a while!
-Also, know your body type. Some people are just built a little bigger, and that's ok! Figure out what your type is and the best ways to shape and sculpt your own body to make it look the best it can be!
-Best of luck! If you believe in yourself and have will power you can do it!

I eat anything I want but I control the calories. Nutritous but modest breakfast. Half a sandwich at lunch. Anything I want at dinner. Works for me. I also walk 30-40 minutes a day except on weekends but I live in a big city with good mass transit.

okay here is a new answer for ya. First off it's better to eat dinner size meals and foods in the morning because you have all day to burn off the calories and don't just sleep it off all night. So eat dinner in the morning lunch at a regular time and breakfest at night. It causes people to at leat drop five pounds quicker.
Second to cut cravings for snacks..chew on sugar free gum or ice chips.
it's a unique way..but it works.

i'm a physical therapist. start by burning more calories than you take in. best way is to add muscle --- do some moderate weight lifting 3 days a week. added muscle burns calories 24 hours a day, but cardio only burns calories for approximately 1.5 hours after completion. make sure to start slowly. if you take in too many calories, try a food diary. good one that's free is www.nutridiary.com. hope this helped and good luck. (make sure to talk to your doctor first)
