This question needs some expanding. I started out in electronics in the NAV not as a GM, but what I can tell you is that you will go to an A school to learn the general trade of being a Gunners Mate. After that you will go to a command or a system specific school called a C school. The problem is that GMs work on small arms (rifles, pistols, machine guns), big guns (the main guns on frigates 3", destroyers and cruisers 5" "cannons" if you will), missile systems, and special weapons systems (CIWS, 20MM chain guns, etc.). So each system requires it's own C school and some systems are on the job training. A school will touch on the basics of all this, but for C schools, you will need to be more specific in your question.

Well, I must be missing something, 'cause I don't know exactly what you want to know. My son was in the Navy and after finishing basic at Great Lakes he stayed on there and attended Gunner's Mate school and finished and then was assigned to a frigate out of San Diego where he remained until he went to SEALS school, also in San Diego.
In passing he told me some of his duties, from small arms and rifles, etc. to the big guns on the ship. He liked it, the Gunner's Mate and SEALS part, but wasn't enamored of the Navy and left after 3 years, despite all the inducements they offered him to stay. Of, course he still had his 3 years of reserves, etc. but has finished that now and is a SWAT cop, so I guess he still likes guns. If you have a specific question you want me to ask him, let me know.
By C school do you mean, "Sea" school, the training actually on the ship and at sea? If so, he had no problem with that either.

which C school? there are several different weapons platforms that GMs are involved with.
and not every GM will get a C school right after A school, many will have to spend some time in the Fleet first.
