Hitler's religiosity -- he was a Catholic until his death -- is often glossed ... Biographer John Toland wrote of Hitler's religion
http://www.ffrf.org/fttoday/back/hitler.html.
Postwar Christian apologists have put perhaps their greatest efforts into creating the myth that Adolf Hitler was not a Christian. An entire cottage industry seems to have sprung up around the desire to perpetuate this myth, and while its motivations are perfectly understandable (who would want to be associated with Hitler in any way?), its dishonesty is unjustifiable. The truth, however uncomfortable, is still the truth?
Hitler's personal library reveal a deep but erratic interest in religion and theology.

Hitler was baptized as Roman Catholic during infancy in Austria. As he approached boyhood he attended a monastery school. Hitler was a communicant and an altar boy in the Catholic Church. He was NEVER excommunicated nor condemned by his church. Matter of fact the Church felt he was JUST and “avenging for God” in attacking the Jews for they deemed the Semites the killers of Jesus.

A few days ago someone asked the same question regarding Hitler's religion. It has been widely suggested that, although Hitler may have used Christian rhetoric in his speeches, he was privately dismissive of religion altogether. The following is a quote from Wikipedia:
"Hitler advocated a "Positive Christianity",[69] a belief system purged from what he objected to in traditional Christianity, and which reinvented Jesus as a fighter against the Jews."
Even in his so called faith, he distorted Christianity to make it fit his political motivations. Moreover, I struggle to understand the reason why this particular question was directed toward Christians. Hitler was, after all, a vegetarian. It has also been argued that he was homosexual. What point do these things prove in the grand scheme of Hitler's atrocity?

The religion Hitler professed to be, and what he actually was, are very different things. I am not a Christian but I know enough about the religion to know that Hitler's absolutely atrocious actions were not compatible with Christian or any religious philosophy.

Hitler was a Catholic and believed in God. He was also a mystic and believed in magic. He was also seriously disturbed megalomaniac. None of those things necessarily have anything to do with each other.
I don't blame the Holocaust on Hitler's Christianity, and neither should others blame Stalins atheism for his atrocities.

Hitler was born to a Catholic family and lived his life as an atheist. Anyone with any knowledge about Catholicism at all knows that everything he did was in direct opposition to everything the Catholic Church teaches and stands for. Besides, what possible difference would it make in anything at all if one madman thought he was Catholic??

Adolph Hitler was a confirmed Catholic, by name only.
He was a practicing Theosophist and was being groomed
under the tutelage of a Theosophist by the name of H.P. Blavatsky, to lead the New World Order.
Needless to say he failed in the mission.
Thank God.

So in a roundabout way are you saying that Christians are like Hitler?
I am in no way like Hitler. I view him as the ultimate atheist.
If he had a spark of humanity, he would not have done the things he did. He is universally condemned by all Christians.
So if you want to blame me for what Hitler did, go ahead.
(by the way I wasn't even born then).

He may have claimed to be a Catholic, but he did not live it out very well at all, if he even actually was. Alot of people claim a religion as their own because their family has that religion, but that is not what it is about

I could go around saying I am the President of the United States but that does not make it true. Hitler's actions speak volumes over his words.

just because someone was "baptized" as a baby who had no say in the matter, it doesn't mean they're christian.
why were many priests taken to concentration camps? why are there documents of hitlers henchmen making plans for a new germany without religion?
just because somebody has an interest in a religion or certain theology, doesn't mean they believe in it
