there could be one of two a few options on that vehicle. The standard tank is 22 gallons. There is a two tank version and the front tank is 19 and the rear is a 22. There were a few fleet vehicles made with "extended range" fuel tanks and they are 35 gallons

Mine (1987, F150, Lariat) holds 16 in the front and 18 in the rear.

been a while since I had an '87 --- if I remember the tank was either 16 or 18 gallons --- if you are tripping for a trick answer the p/up could have two saddle tanks and that total would be about 32 gallons ......

I would say 16 to 18 gal The next time you fill if up run it a little passed E then fill and take a look at the gal hope this helps.
