i take some pills for high blood pressure, take a pill for anxiety and depression. I also take some pills for high blood sugar. I take 5 pills a day just for those health problems, but when the side effects from pills kick in, my doctor prescibes other medications to help with the side effects of these other pills i take for my health issues. I am 28 and take 10 different pills a day know and my doctor wants me to take more for other health problems. I understand that i need to take meds to help with my health problems, but taking to many pills could be bad too i would think. I feel like i could turn into a drug addict from taking all of these pills. Could this happens since some of these pills are easy to get addicted too?

These pills are not the kind that are addictive.
Being as young as you are, it sounds like you need to take better care of your body than you are now..

Get some exercise. Eat healthy. Cut out fast food /
No fried food. Eat fruit and vegtables. You are young enough to change some of your health issues.

Try alternative medicines for the anxiety like acupuncture, try changing your diet for the high blood pressure, I don’t know what you could do about your blood sugar level. And yeah try getting a second opinion or a new doctor if you are not happy with this one. I think you should be trying to find the root of your health problem/s rather than a band aid solution if you haven’t already tried that is. Have you told your doc that you would rather not take too many tablets

I wouldn't always trust doctors when it comes to pills and them looking out for your best interest. When I was younger, my mom had to be treated for a drug dependency because her doctors put her on so many meds, some of them treating the same things you are taking pills for. And mixing so many pills had a detrimental effect on her heart and other organs. You don't want to have the same thing happen to you. My mom eventually had to take her health in her own hands for the health problems that she could control by diet and exercise. If I were you, I would try to find doctors that can help you without pills.

The only one that is probably addicting is the pill for anxiety. Of course, you can't stop taking antidepressants suddenly--or you could have very bad withdrawal--but they are not physically addicting.
Pills for high blood sugar, and side effects are not addicting, but it appears that you need to be taking them.
The only thing that I can suggest, is that you ask your doctor if there are any herbal alternatives to any of the medications you are taking. If he says there are not, also ask your pharmacist.
One problem that can go along with taking a lot of pills, is that some of them go to the liver--as alcohol does--and could cause liver damage. You would probably need to be taking them for a very prolonged time for this to occur--but mention it to the doctor (and the pharmacist), and see what they have to say about that.

Hmmm. I'm sure that your doctor knows what he is doing, but it never hurts to get a second opinion. Why don't you contact someone knew, and fill them in on the situation. You never know, maybe there is an easier solution instead of just taking more pills.
Good Luck!

Maybe you should be asking yourself if your doctor is a drug-dealer. Is he pumping you full of meds? What do you need? Get a 2nd opinion on all your medication, only a doctor can give accurate medical information.
