the bible speaks out against drunkenness in many many passages. when you read about people drinking wine in the bible, you have to realize that the wine in those days was not fermented to the point that it is now. most of the time, people drank wine because the water was putrid.

i don't know of anyone who has ''heard'' a revelation. a revelation is more felt than anything. it's a sudden realization, or a sudden understanding of the Truth.

i've never heard of anyone who has claimed to ''see those spirits'' either, although i'm sure there are people who make claims to both.

to whoever said that all churches use grape juice during communion, you're way wrong. i have never drank grape juice in church, and i have taken communion countless times. i think the grape juice method is a little bit too legalistic. like you said, we're taking minute quantities of wine, and unless i went to the Lord's Table about 25 times in a row, i would have no chance of catching a buzz.

No. Actually, receiving revelations and seeing spirits is a gift. Different people are given different gifts. The bible says that "gifts are given without repentance" which basically means people are blessed with gifts at birth whether they profess to believe in God or his teachings and follow them or not, they still possess the gifts that they were given at birth. That's the difference between a "prophet" and a "psychic". The prophet uses the gift for God's purpose and not his own. While the psychic uses the gift for his own personal gain.

Christians don't drink wine and certainly not to excess.

I believe you are referring to communion which is given in little
plastic cups with grape juice and is not wine.

Now why don't you try asking something that makes sense?
Or better yet, get off your stereotyping high horse do something intelligent with your time.

DIDN'T LIKE TRUTH HUH! THEN STAY OUT OF TRUTH CORNER.

It's funny, Catholics probably enjoying imbibing more than all other Christians, and yet Catholics are not going around hearing the Holy Ghost speak to them, nor are they writhing on the floor at Mass and barking like dogs.

So the connection between booze and spirit encounters is a weak one.

ok people, this question is what we call "trolling". It means to drag a piece of bait or a lure around behind you hoping someone or something will bite on it. When you see this, either don't respond at all or simply answer with the word "Troll". They'll take the hint eventually.

Troll.

I'll bet you'd like to think so!
Fact is though, lots of us followers of Jesus
don't drink any kind of alcohol or use any drugs,
so you're going to have to come up with
another type of denial to explain us away.

many Christians such as myself do not drink alcohol because of the potential for it to influence sinful behavior.

Well I am sure it does. Drinking the blood of the lamb does the same thing as well. :) If you give me a thumbs down you understand what I say as the truth.
