Masturbation is bad because it is the inspiration of demons. And it is influenced by demons. Demons can bring you into bondage of sexual addiction through masturbation. There are alot of men and women were it has become so bad for them that they do not know how to stop. I am being sincere and serious. I struggled with masturbation and at night I would see demons standing over me a night putting sexual thoughts into my mind. And this was while I was still a Christian. After a while, I began to compromise with masturbation. But one night a demon put his hand over my face and tried to suffocate me. I just barely managed to get the Name of Jesus Christ out and the demon fled. It was that night I realized how serious this issue was and from that night on I starting experienceing freedom from masturbation. And now I have'nt masturbated in years. This is why God hates it. If you keep doing it, it will allow demons into your life which will work it to the point where you lose your life. All sin leads to death.

Who says God hates it so?
I have a feeling if he hated it so, he would have said something about it somewhere in the Bible.
Lust gets bad ratings because of its leanings toward infidelity. Masturbation gets no mention in the entire Bible. If it's a controlling addiction and a replacement for the real thing, then it would merit higher concern.

A youth asked: “Is masturbation an unforgivable sin?” Masturbation is not mentioned at all in the Bible. The practice was common in the Greek-speaking world during Bible times, and several Greek words were used to describe the practice. But not one of these words is used in the Bible.
Since masturbation is not directly condemned in the Bible, does this mean it is harmless? Absolutely not! Though it is not classed with such gross sins as fornication, masturbation is surely an unclean habit.
Even those not especially concerned with God’s viewpoint feel uneasy about the practice. For instance, Dr. Aaron Hass in his survey of the sexual practices of 625 teenagers reported: “The majority of adolescents who masturbated reported feeling guilty, ashamed, dirty, stupid, embarrassed, or abnormal.” Surely, masturbation is an unclean habit. But since “uncleanness,” according to the Bible, is a term that allows for a wide range of degree of seriousness, masturbation is not to be classed with such serious sins as fornication or other types of gross sexual immorality. Ephesians 4:19.
The Scriptures counsel: “Deaden, therefore, your body members that are upon the earth as respects fornication, uncleanness, sexual appetite, hurtful desire, and covetousness.” (Colossians 3:5) Is one who practices masturbation ‘deadening his body members as respects sexual appetite’? On the contrary, he is stimulating the sexual appetite. The Bible urges that one avoid the thinking and conduct that lead to such problems, replacing them with wholesome activity, and that one cultivate self-control. When earnest effort is put forth to do this, such self-abuse can be avoided, with benefits mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Masturbation also instills certain attitudes that are mentally corrupting. When masturbating, a person is immersed in his or her own bodily sensations, totally self-centered. Sex becomes separated from love and is relegated to a reflex that releases tension. But God intended that sexual desires be satisfied in sexual relations, an expression of love between a man and his wife.

Masturbation is not bad! Its safe sex.
That's like saying that we are only supposed to have sex to procreate. COME ON!
There is a reason it feels good to do it. If we weren't supposed to do it, it wouldn't feel good. "God" put the nerve endings there so it felt good Right? or was that the only part of us that evolved?

You could go blind doing that you know. Yes, it is a sin. It is your fantasizing that causes you to sin.
28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. - Matthew 5, 28-29
Peace and blessings!
