Generally, I don't care. I'll be dead. My family can do whatever.

However, if I had a say, I'd have a viking funeral where a my body is placed on a boat set out to sea then immolated.

I'm not an atheist, but I am agnostic. I also know some atheists. Any atheist I can think of would not want a cross on their grave stone for the same reason why I don't want a cross on my gravestone and the same reason why a christian wouldn't want a pentagram on theirs.

I'm sure most atheist will not be putting "Please do not put a cross on my grave" in their will, so my guess is that it is up to the family members. My family would probably put a cross on my grave in hopes that I was "saved" at the last moments. I don't guess I would mind much. What could I say if I did care?? I guess they'd get the last laugh.

I would serious doubt that would ever be formost in their minds . So why do you ask such a question? Not many Atheists probably believe in willingly committing to mutilation
even if you think there is the slightest relationship between this and salvation the symbol is much too much a demarkation of belief in a deity which is contrary to atheism.

Atheists dont believe in a heaven or hell. to them when you die thats it. there would be no real reason to put a cross on there grave unless it was for show/or family reason(make a love one happy)

This atheist intends to be cremated. I do not intend to have any cross designs on my urn (where my ashes will be stored), unless it is part of a tic-tac-toe design.

Actually i'd love to have a pentagram just to bother people, or i might get myself cremated and dropped somewhere.
Edit
As someone said before a viking sea burial would also be cool.

Most people don't usually HAVE graves until they are dead. I don't intend to have a cross anywhere.
