I would like to know if there are any herbs to help prevent the disease or to lessen the effect of it .Out of the family the mother, grandmother, two of five boys have it - so far!
My husband has'nt shown systems yet but two older brothers have. I see that some herbs are good for stimulating cells but do not know enough about them and which combination would help. His doctor doesnt beleive in herbal medicine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

sorry...there's no known cure and herbal stuff hasn't proven to help at all...however there is a medicine called Aricept..actually there is another type out too...that doesn't stop the disease but if you first start to lose your memory this slows the process down a bit...

You could try the B vitamin Choline taken in combination with B complex 50 mg as Choline is what Acetylcholine is made of. It is the neurotransmitter that regulates memory, however it has not been shown to reduce plaque.

I've heard that staying mentally active (doing sudoku, crosswords, getting together with friends and family) helps postpone the onset and reduce the severity of Alzheimer's.

Can't hurt; might help. Good luck!
