Cheese is ok for dogs and makes a good training treat if cut up real small. I read some where that some dogs can choke on large hunks of cheese. The cheese that comes in a can works great inside of a kong or large hollow bone. Just smear it inside and it will keep your dog busy trying to lick it all out.

Dogs eating anything other than their own food can cause upset stomachs but if it's a little bit here and there it shouldn't cause too many problems. A lot of human food can cause diabetes in some dogs and cause them to be overweight will will then cause a whole host of other problems.

Yeah you can - small amounts not a half a block. Remember that lactose based products can cause loosening of stools - and farting! Yeah farting - and stinky cheese farts at that!
Stinky cheese dog faarts!
But it is a good treat in small amounts.
Oh and no fancy flavors or jalapenos - just straight american or cheddar is safest.

A little cheese is all right, but cheese is high in fat so too much is not good.

Yes, all kinds, in moderation. Domesticated dogs are scavengers, they will eat almost anything... they could eat things that would put you and I near death. My grandparents (Pennsylvania Dutch) used to feed theirs slop (along with the pigs and barn cats), which was left over milk, leftover meals and whatever was about to go bad in the fridge. Those dogs always lived into their teens. So go ahead, spoil your baby with a REAL stinky cheese... Lindberger maybe?
