JD Power Ranks Hyundai #3 (behind Porsche and Lexus) in Initial Quality and Consumer Reports ranks them #7 in long-term reliability...Mercedes is dead last at #36 and no American or European brand makes their top 10. They have the best safety features and prices for the money. Hyundai/Kia is the #7 selling brand in the US market behind Nissan and far ahead of the #8. Hyundai is the Mercury to Kia's Ford if you know what I mean. All cars have 5 yr 60K mile bumper to bumper warranty and 10 yr 100K powertrain. Parts are slightly higher then American/Japanese brands, but less then European. Resale values are improving and surpassing American brand cars, not close to Japanese yet though.

It's truely astounding to me how far they've come. I remember a woman who used to own a Hyundai Excel. The thing sounded like a lawnmover and was the biggest piece of crap second only to a GEO. Now, the Sonata and Azera are cars that I consider very good (don't get me wrong, their two SUVs, the Tiburon, the Accent, etc. are still good, I just think of the Sonata and Azera as being their flagships). The Sonata is a pretty good competitor to the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry (although both are still better) and the Azera is a good competitor to the Toyota Avalon (if not better). They still do have a ways to go, and everything that people above me said about maintenence and resale value is true. But there's no doubt they've come a long way.
(Although if I were you, I'd look at the alternatives from Honda and Toyota first. Mise well get what you know to be good.)

So far, I believe that Hyundai's have been the best over-all cars that have been developed for this year!!!
Their commercials prove that this automaker can beat big-brother Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz! Although they lack great features like parking itself, Navigation system, or some new technology that isn't currently featured, Hyundai is becoming a next generation in luxury automobiles for a market of a smaller income...
07 Hyundai/Kia's? ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!

My friend has a 2007 Accent and its one solid car. It rides nice comes with a lot of features and looks great too. Hyundai has come a long way over the past 5 years and are now an extremely reliable company that backs everything they make with a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. So buying a Hyundai would be a smart decision if you want a great car but dont want to spend a lot of many.

Haven't heard much. I think they've improved their safety considerably in the last few years.
Honestly, and I don't know if this will help or not, I wouldn't buy a Hyundai. I've had mine for four years, and I've had to repair it quite a bit. In the past, I've neglected my cars, but I've been very careful about this one. Yet I've done $1200 in repairs just this year already.
I've also had dealings with Hyundai directly (corporate), and it has NOT been fun. They know they make poor quality vehicles, so they've covered their behinds to make sure they don't have to pay for things that should've been recalled.

What would you like to know. Hyundais are getting better and better each year. They are decent inexpesive cars. Just remember you get what you pay for. There is no resale value of any real substance. They are expensive to maintain, parts are expensive, are expensive to fix in minor collisions (they don't crash well) They will how ever get you from point a to point b. There are many better cars that will give you over all lower cost per mile operation cost. In the industry they car considered disposable cars.
