Has your doctor recommended alternative therapies. Chiropractics can be very effective - find one who keeps a massage therapist on staff as well. For pain relief you can also consider acupuncture. While I hate needles I can tell you it works and doesn't hurt. You must also keep yourself strong. Weak muscles will trigger your bones to grow osteophytes (extra pieces of bone) to stabilize the area - if the surrounding muscles are strong the body will not be prompted to grow these to compensate. Add a joint complex to your vitamin regimen - the key ingredients in the supplement should be glucosamine and chondritin.

First, try cyrotherapy - ice.

Second, see your family Chiropractor for proper treatment of the cause(s) of your pain.

Best wishes and good luck.
