The best man has a lot of duties to help the groom with, you should go to www.weddinghelpline.com they have a lot of stuff that will help you including all the duties of the wedding party before and after the wedding. I am planning my own wedding and this site has been a life saver! Hope this helps

Being chosen as the best man is a huge honor, and you should feel lucky if this is you.. you get to stand by your best bud on the most important day of his life, supporting him all the way (I hope)... He plans the bachelor's party, holds the groom's ring (and vows if need be), escorts maid/matron of honor down the aisle, helps to calm groom and any other random family/friends, gives a speech at the reception, generally gets with the maid/matron of honor to handle any other issues that may come up...troubleshoot during the wedding so even if there is a major disaster, the bride and groom have no idea and no worries. :)
