When you used the term "ANY kind of museum" I thought it gave a bit more weight to your question. One of the greatest tradgedies in the world is mis-allocation of funds. That being said, the museum is opening about 20 minutes from where I live so I'm in the middle of the controversy. I'm a Christian who doesn't follow their line of logic, but defend their right to build their museum, while questioning why it was neccesary when the money most certainly could have been put to better use.

How about $177 Million a DAY on war?

Honestly, I would rather spend a week at that museum than have my taxes continue to fund an occupation for profit. If somebody said they would end the war tomorrow if I would become the creationist museums permanent mascot I would do it. Is it Vicarious Cynic? No its Noah's Dinasaur!!!!

I love the part in the link below about the $1.4 BILLION in unsupported and unreasonable charges by Halliburton. Where did Cheney use to work?

Talking about morality and taking the high ground when billions are spent waging war is truly hypocrisy.

Whenever poor countries need a little help, money can not be found! - start a war and all of a sudden it is like a dam has burst full of nothing but money.

Didn't Jesus himself in the parable about the fieldworkers hired early and late show that what a person did with his personal property is NOBODY else's business?

You don't seem to mind all the money spent on proving evolution? Interesting! I guess the poor are not THAT important?

Well......Churches are built all the time that cost millions. Taxes are squandered on war in Iraq. The hard earned money that I pay to Social Security is used to make the politicians rich, and when I will be of age to retire, there will be no money left. So I might be starving also. America eats 2/3 more than it need to and is still malnutritioned. We pay taxes to school and yet I have to pay hundreds to sylvan learning center to keep my child up to date because the teachers are not smart enough to educate them properly. I had to pay a traffic ticket for my wife "running a stale yellow light". The world is a messed up place. You have to come to terms with this. No one wants to change anything. This is proven by people getting shafted all the time and are unwilling to stand up for themselves. Every government official is out for thier own agendas and could care less about the people it is supposed to protect. Property values and taxes continue to rise with no end in sight. You put money in the bank and hopefully earn a little interest, which the IRS wants you to pay taxes on. This means that you don't even get your inflations worth. On top of that fuel systems that would be environmental saviors as well as pocket book saviors are buried, never to be used because it would put a big dent in the trillions of dollars to the pocket books of big oil companies. I could go on all day, but what good is it when no one gives a crap. There are starving and needy poeple in this country, the richest in the world.

But souls still choose to incarnate, so there must be something worth while to learn from all of this. Karma is a mother fkr.

Ya know, Americans alone spend $300 million a year on lip balm. The question isn't about money. The question is about priorities.

If somebody with $25M burning a hole in his/her pocket wants to spend it this way, that's their karma. If I had that kind of money I would hope that I could find a better use for it.

No, not really. I think that we all spend way too much money on ourselves when people on the streets are starving and homeless...and we do it because we can...just like sitting at my computer...I feel badly that someone might not have a place to sit or sleep, but I am still sitting here typing the answer to this question...take care...

I think we should be feeding the people. its sad really,we as followers of Christ should do more to see that these people are taken care of, not only fed but also clothed, medical attention, shelter. What good would a museum do a starving, sick, naked, homeless person.

I was kind of wondering about that myself, all that money that Christians could use for genuine charity, and for what purpose is it used? A theme park, as one person called it, all to perpetuate a myth. It might be likened to Disneyland or Disney World, as it definitely should be named "Fantasy Land". It has been called a national embarassment, which I think is quite true. I'm glad it's not in my city.

It's not moral or immoral. Is it moral that you own a computer and pay for the internet every month when you could be feeding 50 people instead?

i wish i could go there... im an atheist but i would have a great time...

and to answer your question, no.

LJAY, if it's a theme park but teaches people stupid things, i dont know what to make of it... it should be abusive to the gullible...

the entertainment industry is a different thing(or is it?). unless they are spending money to make more money, that is just business. no need to sugar coat it with "we care about people's souls"
