Jesus Fan: Isnt it Gods place to judge?

Honestly, it hurts no one and it protects people who work hard to share a life together. It's tragic now the discriminatory way same sex couples are treated when trying to get basic benefits for a surviving spouse or in case of medical emergency. The rest of it is no one else's business. Their spiritual safety is between them and their god and no one else.

Peace!

Here we go again. Yes the bible says that man-on-man action is against God. However, with the coming of Jesus (who himself wandered around in the close company of 12 men), laws like these were abandoned. It is only the 10 commandments that we are mean to follow now.

In this day and age it is hard to find that someone who you want to spend your entire life with, and wants to spend their entire life with you. Who are you to be saying "Sorry mate, you can't marry your soulmate, because you are both the same sex". If two people find that connection, then so be it.

I do have issues with Gay marriage. Every time two men get married, there are two less for me. Damn it!!

The day homosexuals can marry, the family values will dissolve. Parents and children will start fighting over bedtime...maybe the kids will even start horsing around in the backseat of the car. Gay pride marches will be placed with something more sinister...like marches for the tomato to be recognized as a vegetable (since we don't put fruits in salads!). Terrorists, disguised in pink scarves, will get passed those tough national guardsmen at the borders who are too busy undressing them with their eyes to notice the huge ticking packages that are under their arms, and the US will cease to exist.

Yep...gay marriages. The ruin of society.

Of course. Although I'd have to spend the rest of my summer attending weddings. And I have to work!

Yeah, some people on here seem to think gay people want a religious marriage. Few do. No one would force religious people to marry gay people. They just want the same basic rights.

10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong

01) Being gay is not natural. Real men always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalising gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

This question will showcase the fundie idiots here.

You will see gay marriage compared to polygamy pedophilia, and bestiality because they have no logical reason to justify their idiocy.

Gay marriage affects NO ONE but the TWO (yes 2) consenting ADULTS getting married.

It's a question of tax dollars for those who are against it-- whether what they pay to the government goes towards something they are morally against. That's how it hurts them. (and that is the issue--tax breaks are given to married straight couples and refused to gay couples)

Everyone, I'm sure you promote the concept of Love? Am I correct? Let people who feel love for one another be. They can't help it, so who are you to say? God said not to judge, but that is still what you do. Don't preach about what you cannot even follow, it is unjust. Just let love work its course.

We have civil marriage, and gay people should have the same rights as hetero people. Whether or not one agrees, religions have a right to say that homosexuality is a sin, and therefore not allow a gay religious ceremony.

I believe they should be allowed to form some kind of civil union - that would be a secular union. If the state or IRS or companies choose to recognize that and provide additional benefits as a result, so be it.

I do not believe that a church should endorse it since the Bible is pretty clearly against it.

I also believe we should keep the term 'marriage' for dual-gender couples, and use another tem for gay couples.

That's pretty open-minded but still Biblical, I believe.
