It's just not catching on.

(Before you say something like "666 is in the Bible, but 616 isn't", consider clicking on the link. At least consider it. I beg you.)

Well, I don't know anything about nothing, but:

"However, there is no way the Beast can be Nero, as some have wished to suggest. Even if we ruin his Greek name by substituting an omicron (70) and losing the final nu (50), the result — 226 — will not work. It is very easy to make mistakes in figuring out ancient numerology (as noted by Page passim, especially 504 and 509)."

616???!!! If it isn't in the Bible, then there's no such thing. Revelations Chapter 13, tells about the number of the beast. 666 does not refer to a NAME of an individual, but to a TITLE given to a 'chosen one'. The beast exists until judgement day comes.

www.blueletterbible.com says for Revelation 13:18 that the chi xi stigma corresponds to agamos agathoergos stigma, which means the stigma of being unmarried and hard working or a friendly worker. This fits with what criminals expect their gang members to accept as an ethic.

God is the original unmarried hard worker.

616 is an area code in Michigan, michigan is usually cold most of the year. I don't think the mischievious spirit exaggerated in the bible would like it there.

I've heard this before and the frag too.

Of course it is not catching on - there are a couple of dozen manuscripts - not frags - that state 666.

Who knows what this frag really says and is really about?
Theory does not count!

No one really knows.

Yeah....The both refer to Nero and the change was for a pretty obvious reason if you look at how it was translated.
