Why does it seem alot of people are focusing their attention to things like "global warming" when we have much bigger issues that can be focused on? For example, Darfur, Uganda, world hunger, the poverty around the world? It just seems like people don't want to focus on things that are actually happening, while children have to walk from village to village every day trying to escape people (uganda). Any thoughts?

Just as a side note, no, I do not believe in Global Warming. Sorry, I just don't buy into it. And I do not think that this issue is more important than what is happening in the world. And when I said why does it seem no one cares, I wasn't talking about money. We can give money until our hands fall off, but what I'm talking about is going over and helping people, like, volunteering? Nor do I mean invade countries, just help them possibly resolve the issues.

I agree, that the eyes of the public are always pushed to see different kind of "global problems", instead of the real problems.

It seems like some theory of conspiracy, according to a book I read.
World population has to have No1 enemy, although not the real one - the attention is dedicated to something "so big"!

Global warming is big deal. All these new policies on climate change will impact world economy and possibly food supply too may be. Even if you're someone who doesn't believe it is real, this climate issue will impact you one way or another. Even if climate doesn't change.

But I saw this interesting piece on TV about how generous the US is on donations to other poor countries. We rank well outside top 10 in the world. By looking at percentage of GDP.

And climate policies will most likely have big impact on rich and powerful. Owners of big corporations, factories, businesses...etc. People with connections in gov. These things get more attention than something like Darfur. Which won't help rich people gain much good.

Because Global Warming IS, "actually happening"... And if we don't start doing something about it pretty soon- all those other world crisis (and they ARE important, -don't get me wrong)- are going to look like "ants at a picnic" compared to the devastation that will be felt in countries all over the world! In one way or another, Global Warming is GOING to affect EVERYONE in some way in the next 10 to 15 years. And as time passes, more & MORE of that "affect" will be the difference between life & death... Think of it as if you're a turtle hearing a trains whistle as you're standing on the track... -At WHAT point do you decide that it's a "good time" to get a move- on??! :)

Because the old hippies who used to protest in the 60's are feeling old and they need something to make them feel young again. But now they have managed to brainwash their kids generation to believe in this fairy tale to the point that it is just a fad.Remember the War on Drugs? The War on Poverty? Even the War on Terror seems to have passed for most people.

DARFUR, UGANDA, world hunger are all the result of global warming, and will only get worse.

The democrats know that the people don't trust them on any other issue so they dreamed this one up.
