Now most would think surplus dieting would do the job but in-fact not only that it does do it, it also alters your metabolic activity and the rate. So by dieting you can alter your insulin and glucagon hormone rate of release and you will be more likely to suffer from hyperglycemia( increase in blood glucose level) or mostly hypoglycemia (decrease in blood glucose level).
So no dieting!!!
The healthiest way to lose weight is not by encountering bursts of exercise. The body likes slow changes in terms of food and exercise. For example, someone who has not exercised for ages should not straight away run a mile a day or something far more extreme. Not only will they struggle to do so, it will also leave you feeling disheartened and demotivated, you're also far more likely to injure yourself and set your fitness levels back further.
Now the best answer i can provide you with is to:
1) reduce the amount of calories you eat- i.e. fats, proteins and carbohydrates.
2) increase your levels of activity i.e. start by walking a mile instead of running then slowly progress.
This might sound so vague but believe me its what the experts would say.

5-6 days of cardio for 30 mins to start. After 4 weeks increase the time.
(such as: running, walking, elliptical machine, tony little's gazelle, treadmill, jumping rope, etc)
3 days a week, Monday - Wednesday and Friday spend 30 minutes doing strength training. Even if you are just lifting a can of soup in each hand.
Cardio is a fat burner, however without some lean muscle mass its almost pointless.

The best exercise is the one you will do. Don't sign up for a fitness center if you won't go. I lost weight playing volley ball on a league twice per night. A friend of mine lost weight by taking up country-western dancing. Another is a bicycle nut. He loves to ride.
Find an activity that you will do and jump in!

You have to do alot of cardio. AND I hear this alot that you cant focus on one spot to lose weight but I do it and It works fine for me so what I would say is just do some cardio like run a track for a hour a day and do some situps or anything that interest you........

cardio is the only fat burning exercise (running, jogging, cycling, swimming etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min and combine it with light weight training so you wouldnt lose any muscle (more muscle=faster metabolism)
