I have a 13 mth and a 6mth female Bichon's. My older one tries to hump the baby and we can't get her to stop. Any ideas how I can stop this? The older one seems to be controling everything the baby does and not sure how to stop this. Any ideas would be great!! Thanks in advance!

She is just being dominant and letting the little one know she is boss and pack leader. Leave them alone, if she keeps dominating this way you won't have a b*itch fight in a couple of months from the little one trying to challenge the older dog.
My dominant female does this often, she sometimes does it more just before the others come into season.

The humping is a dominance thing. She is just trying to show the younger dog she is boss. Unless she is actually hurting the puppy there is really no harm and usually decreases once the puppy learns who is boss. Remember, though, that these dogs consider you part of the pack and you must show them that you are alpha. You should be able to eat, walk through a door, etc first followed by the older dog. Do not "comfort" your puppy for being picked on, it may just make the alpha dog more intimidating toward the puppy. If your older dog does something undesireable stop her and treat her when she is showing desireable behavior. Alpha dogs may do things that look mean to the underdogs, such as snarling and humping, but as long as the dog is not seriously hurting the pup it is just showing who is boss.
Another thing is, the younger dog is reaching or has reached breeding age. If they are both unaltered then hormones could be another factor.

Strictly dominance issue your dog is having a hard time being the boss of the dog she fights with so she is showing the less aggressive therefore less dominant dog that she's the boss over her Its like if I can't boss him around she gets it all Good Luck hope this helps

It's dominance behavior by the older dog. It's not like she is doing anything sexual.... or is the younger one getting hurt by this? If yes- you can keep them separate. (get a gate or something)

one of my dogs, the oldest likes to hump the other ones. lol. idk, we call her a lesbian because she hates boys, and loves our two females. She is eight and never had babies yet. we have two males and we let them be together and neither of them can get her bred...maybe your having the same situation? lol idk
