I'm in the middle of moving and I want to use up some items I have in the refrigerator and freezer. I have a few cans of Mushroom Soup and Cream of Chicken, I have some frozen broccolli florets and some frozen chicken breasts....any ideas and how long do I have to cook this in a slow cooker?

Do I have to thaw all of the frozen foods?

With the chicken breasts especially-we have had better luck thawing them in the fridge in water overnight. Some frozen stuff in a Crock will overcook and be dry before the center gets done. Should be ok with the veggies. If putting frozen stuff in, I would advise running the crock on "hi" for an hour then turn to low. Check after 5, then 6 hours.

Here is an answer from "How to use a Crock Pot/ Slow cooker 101" "Experts recommend you do not put frozen foods in the crockpot. All foods should be defrosted before cooking so the food temperature can reach 140 degrees as soon as possible". To learn more click below, it help me a out a lot.

I don`t think you have to thaw anything. You can put the chicken and broccoli in the crock pot with either soup you`d like, although the cream of chicken sounds particularly yummy.Add one or two cans of milk and cook on low 8-10 hours.

Put the chicken, broccoli and a can of soup into the crock pot and let it bubble away for a few hours.
Personally I wouldn't defrost them first.

Throw it all in and maybe add a few potatoes or a cup of rice, some garlic, and lemon juice. If you set it on low, you should be able to cook it for like, 6 hours or so.

INGREDIENTS
1 (2 to 3 pound) whole chicken
salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon paprika

DIRECTIONS
Wad three pieces of aluminum foil into 3 to 4 inch balls, and place them in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Rinse the chicken, inside and out, under cold running water. Pat dry with paper towels. Season the chicken with the salt, pepper and paprika, and place in the slow cooker on top of the crumbled aluminum foil.
Set the slow cooker to High for 1 hour, then turn down to Low for about 8 to 10 hours, or until the chicken is no longer pink and the juices run clear.
