Since this question appears in the genealogy category, Taylor perhaps became famous because her grandmother, a professional opera singer, passed down some of her musical aptitude.
Then again, fame is very subjective. I had to google Taylor Swift to find out that she is an American country music singer/song writer born in 1989.
