I'm a vet tech and i know other italian grayhound owers said the same thing. First he is young, so that takes time because he wants to play and be agressive. He is an Alpha dog. When he gets hyper and starts to bite pick him up and grab his nose and very loudly in his face say "NO!" Repeat it until he stops wiggling, holding his nose.
If he doesn't get it by the third time you put him down, Remove him from the area. Also keep a leash on him when he plays so you have control on the jumping, you can walk him away from the dog and tell him no.

my dog (now a whopping FIFTEEN year old aussie shep) has been that way her whole life... she even barks at the tv when animals are on it... i was told that since she was a shephard she naturally likes to "round up" animals, but i will say that it made her quality of life worse... my girlfriend has sweet dogs but we cant walk them together or anything... that being said you need to take care of this soon while you the character is still developing... my dog trainer has things called "doggy socials" where dogs are allowed to just run around and be themselves, as long as your dog won't really hurt the other dogs you should do that until your dog is part of a "pack"-- a bigger dog will maybe make her more submissive or something. Just do whatever it takes because you and your dog will be happier

nicely I actually have a small canines(10 lbs now finished grown) and additionally a 6 twelve months old lady lab. whilst my little guy replaced right into a doggy (weighed approximately 3 lbs on a fatty day lol) my lab might very nearly flow into mommy mode (she has on no account had doggies until now) she might positioned her mouth around the middle of his physique and %. him up or only flow him around. she might constantly seize him along with her mouth. She nevertheless does this sometimes even although he's only too huge for her to %. up this way. if she did no longer growl or something, consistent with hazard, in her strategies, she replaced into only attempting to play. in case you made a huge deal out of it and instructed her no or in spite of you do whilst she does something undesirable, she might have only been perplexed. if she does not oftentimes have problems with different canines, i do no longer see a situation. only make valuable if she is fiddling with a smaller canines or doggy you watch her heavily.

If you try to force dogs to be friendly you are fighting a loosing battle. They either will be or will not be. Most of the time if they do not want to be they just ignore the other. If you try to get them together then they become very nervous and even aggressive.

My dog does not like most dogs and as long as they stay out of his area he ignores them. He does like cats and has a young ct to play with.

Learn to read them and not trying to force them to be what you want them to be. I never try to get my dog to be friends with another dog. He will if he wants and wont if he does not want.

When he is out and about in other dogs territories then he is very quiet and patient but does not join them.
