Where I live, they usually DO publish the locations, are at least the times in advance. I have yet to find anyone who could show me that it is actually required.

Nice girl make a good point about it not making much sense to tell the drunks what areas to avoid. They seem to get caught anyway. I guess that means the ones that get caught really ARE impaired.

Correct me if I'm wrong. They don't have to publish the locations but they do have to give you an escape route (side street, ect) to turn down. This way no one can say it's entrapment. Plus, when people see the orange signs telling them DUI checkpoint ahead alot of people think it's normal road construction until they get right up to it.

My hubbys told me when they were having them but would not ever tell me the location...and I am his wife..lol..there's just certain things an officer doesnt tell anyone!

It would be dumb to post the location!
U know it would be dumb to tell the location! The purpose of having them is to get drunk drivers off the road, if drunks knew about them they would avoid the area and find a new route!
Just like the click it or ticket, they do the same but dont tell where they will be!

i may be wrong after all I am just an officers wife!

Many western countries incorporate a "separation of powers" into their governance shape. those separations are oftentimes : Legislature, government and judiciary. This ensures that no agency/man or woman/branch etc has undue potential. consequently the police do no longer "make" the regulations, they in basic terms enforce the regulations. regulation enforcement should not be above the regulation, in the event that they have been, the suitable exams and stability are no longer occuring.
