2 weeks..ish.
It really depends on the mommy cat, though.
When my cat had kittens I picked them up at about 2 and a half weeks.
If you pick them up too early your scent will get on them and the mother might reject them.

My friends adopted a loveable pregnant stray. When the kittens were born, they weren't twelve hours old before the daughters were pushing them around in a Barbie car.
Needless to say, those were the most socialized kittens EVER! If the mama cat doesn't seem to mind, go ahead and pick them up: the more human contact they have, the better.

This depends on the mom .
I usually start to hold them as soon as they are born but not very long. tehy need to spend most of their time with mom for the first 4 weeks at 4 weeks they should be startedof very mushy dry kitten food but also continue to nurse on mom tehy should stay with mom for 8 weeks before going to new homes
Good Luck wiht the little guys/gals

it depends if the mom is not feeding the kittens then you have to old them and feed them. but if everything is fine i would wait a day or so unless the mom needs help then you do what you have to do.

Until it is about 6 weeks old. It really needs it's mother's milk and care in the beginning.
