It seems every single time I take a shower or bath my straight hair gets frizzy, dry, tangled, and a really ugly colour. ( I don't dye my hair. ) It just looks dead. :( I used to enjoy baths and showers, but now I'm just, "Oh great, my hair will be awful tomorrow." Please help!

I used to have the same problem. My hair is naturally dry, and it took me a long time to figure out what to do with it. First, don't wash it every day. Go 1-2 days between washings. Believe me, it helps. Then when you do wash it, deep condition. The best thing I have found is Aveda conditioner for dry hair. Then go buy some shea butter and Jojoba oil. After washing your hair and towel drying, run the shea butter between your hands until it is "melted", add a little Jojoba in your hand as well, and apply to your hair while it is still wet. This locks in the moisture. Then style as usual. My hair seriously is so soft now! Good luck!

Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I really like Joico products. You can get the generic brand also at Sally's. Also, whenever your hair starts to get tangly and dry, it's usually time for a trim. Use lukewarm water and rinse your conditioner with cool water. John Frieda makes a good product called Spotlight-sleek and shine detangler in the sheer blonde or sheer brunette line. You just put it in your hair when it is soaking wet and you can also use it in your hair when it is dry to smooth and gloss. If it is too greasy, just don't put on the top or roots of your hair.

1] buy a shampoo and conditioner for dry, damaged hair.
2] comb out tangles before washing hair
3] wet hair
4] apply 25 to 50 cents worth of shampoo to your palms, rub together, and scrub scalp about as hard as you brush your teeth. Do NOT pile hair up on head, do NOT scrub the shaft of the hair.Rinse well.
5] apply same amount of conditioner to hair - not scalp.Your scalp and the new hairs don't need conditioner. Rinse thoroughly.
6] blot hair dry - don't rub.Wet hair is fragile.
7] comb out tangles with a wide tooth comb. No brushing until hair is dry.
8] avoid blow dryers, curlers, straighteners until hair is in better shape.
9] get a deep conditioner and use twice a week until hair is in better shape.
10] drink lots of water - about1/2 gallon a day
11] eat a quality diet - lean protein, low fat dairy, whole grains, and lots of fruits and vegetables.
12] take a good multivitamin with minerals every day - a little bit of something can make a big difference in hair, skin, nails

Well it depends on what you use for a shampoo or conditioner...if your using suave or a cheap shampoo you hair is going to reflect that! Also try to switch up your shampoos every 6 weeks once your hair starts getting used to the shampoo its good to change it so your hair dosnt dry out! maybe you need a trim! Good luck

I use Johnson's detanglers for kids, it helps with those tangles. As for the frizz, I suggest Tresemme' Frizz Cream and as for the color, allowing it to air dry versus blow drying makes a difference. Blow drying and straightening makes it lighter. This is the case for my hair, I really have no explanantion why, but it does.

you need to get a "conditioning heat treatment" if you live close to a great clips, then you should go there because i know they can do it. and it only costs around $15. I know because i ruined my hair by putting 4 perms in it in about an 9 month period. and it completely fried my hair. so i went and got a conditioning treatment from great clips and with just one treatment my hair is so much healthier!

well my hair stylist told me to stop wetting my hair too much because it becomes dry. you see, when you wet your hair just like when your skin gets wet then when it dries it gets ashy, when your hair gets wet and dries it gets tangled and you can get alot of split ends from that also. stop wetting your hair so often, and only wash it once a week. when you take showers where a shower cap or something to keep your hair from getting wet.

Ok, make sure to use shampoo and conditioner. My hair gets frizzy too, so use Loma, it makes your hair less frizzy and shiny. Check online to see what products you can use to help your hair.
