First of all, they tend to have drier skin than the others, second of all, dead skin is lighter color than their skin tone, so it is more obvious to see.
You have as much dead skin as they do, your skin tone just lighter and less obvious to see your dead skin.

skin doesnt get "ashy" it just gets dry, and on black people in particular it looks like ash on their skin, but thats easily taken care of with lotion... generally the lighter skin color you have the less likely you are to notice the dry skin... well by looking at it anyway.

White people do to( When we need lotion) just like black people, but you see it on black people right away (for white people it takes longer to be noticable) My boyfriend (white) works on boats always on the water , and in the sun and he gets ashy skin all the time but you cant see it unless you look closely

Everyone gets ashy skin. It just looks more noticeable on dark skin, because dead skin will be dull and will contrast against the dark skin.

we all get that...but you can't see it on white people because there is no contrast. dead skin cells that are sloughing off turn white. on everyone. on dark skin it looks obvious because of the contrast with the live skin color underneath. black people don't have anymore dead skin than anyone else, you can just see it more easily.

Everyone gets "ashy". It just doesn't show as easy on us pasty white folks. When you're skin is darker, the dryness will show up. Were all the same here. There is really not much difference. Were all human. We all have blood, skin, and bones.
