I've just downloaded Limewire, but I'm afraid to download any songs because every time I click on a song title, it says there is no copyright and to check my local copyright laws.

I'm sure millions of people use Limewire everyday and have never been caught, but I'm thinking I shouldn't take a chance... should I go with my gut instinct?

Go with your morals. itunes is pretty cheap these days.
Right now, music companies are hard at work suing people who distrubute music. They are soon going to move on to those who download, so watch out.

Songs these days are so cheap that the government doesn't care that much about someone downloading less then five a day. I also use limewire and I limit myself to 5 songs a day, and you're right over millions of people use it a day and don't get caught, so don't worry.

um... there's no such thing as never get caught..
it takes time and patient for riaa...
also it depends on your isp provider if they tattle tale..

verizon is against for telling riaa, time warner road runner is another story...
and yes there is a way for network admin to tell if you're running limewire, we do it at work..

how riaa catches you, they do like what the dateline peopel do.. they set up decoy computers with files and wait for you to download, then they try to download from you as well to see what you have and once they have a song/file that proves to be copy right infringement, they go to court and request your record from the isp...
like i said, verizon has been sturbborn and been in courts left and right to stop riaa in getting your info.. however, verizon will attack you for causing trouble... roadrunner gave up many people faster than light...
firewalls do have some flaws and still allows people into your system...

go with gut instinct or real caution... I never suggest people to do it...
if people are downloading from you stop tehm, delete their request... and don't keep your files on your system..

unfortuenly i been getting my files from itunes, they have been cheaper and better quality.. also windows music....
maybe it's because i do get pay enough.. but however that is me..

I use Limewire.
I've downloaded PeerGuardian before I started using it though so I wouldn't get viruses or anything.
I don't think anything is wrong with it. I think the news would've said something about it by now.

Most likely, you would not get caught. But why chance it when you can download songs off wal-mart music for 88 cents per track.

Think of it as being caught by police on a highway for speeding, you can never tell when, it may never happen, but it might, and you will get caught.
The rules are simple, dont over do it, we all take chances, but more you take, more chance you will get caught.
