There are no specs when checking a TPS since you will be using a Ohm meter, look for fluid change from the meter and no dead spots while moving switch if you are measuring the actual resistor.

check it with a DVOM ( digital volt ohm meter ) and the specs are roughly .5 to 4.5....... roughly

but all you can really do is check for a dead spot

a manual would greatly help you. check your local library
