If she's not ultra dirty maybe try those pet wash wipes. Get the areas that are most soiled. She will also clean herself up a bit too. Like someone said...do make sure she is dry dry dry...pups cant regulate body temp and moisture would give them a chill.

No, it's really not okay. She needs to be 100% dry before you let her back with her puppies, and it's really cruel to try and keep her away that long. Besides, she's nursing, you don't want shampoo residue on her. Brush her out really well, (while she's in the whelping box), then you can use either dry shampoo or unscented baby wipes just on her back end to clean her up. Leave the bath until the puppies are older when she won't mind leaving them for that long - when they're around 3 weeks.

My vet told me to avoid washing the stomach because the puppies won't recgonize the scent and and won't nurse.
Other than that, after having puppies she needs a good bath. Just use water on her belly.
