If the sauerkraut is already made.... I put a little oil in the pan (olive or walnut) and put the apple slices in. I steam them until the slices are soft, but not mushy. I then take them out of the pan and put the pork in. When the one side is cooked enough to flip I do and them place the apples & sauerkraut on top, put the lid back on and cook until done. After I take the pork out of the pan I put a little water in it and carmelize the apples and sauerkraut. Then I plate it with a side of green beans.

Omg my guy friends mother made some of this one night and i tried to make it myself..didnt turn out as good as hers but it was good.. You take and put the pork chops in a pan add salt and then cover with the sourkraut and add Apple slices or pieces whichever you prefer..i like apple pieces there thicker..Then bake for about and 45 mintues to and hour depending on how u like yours..Then serve then with some mash potatos..Very good..i have even thought about adding alittle honey just to spice it up a bit..havent yet but will try it..

My recipe uses applesauce,
brown the porkchops on both sides,
add 3 TBsp of vinegar to 16 oz of sauerkraut then
mix in 12 oz of applesauce with 3 TBsp of brown sugar,
fry or microwave bacon till done and crumble into mixture,
spread about 2/3 of sauerkraut mixture in baking pan, add chops and top with the rest of suaerkraut mixture
bake uncovered in 350* oven for 45 minutes

4 pork chops, 1/2 inch thick
Vegetable oil for browning
1 med. onion, sliced and separated into rings
1/8 tsp. instant garlic flakes
3 c. drained sauerkraut
3/4 c. apple juice
1 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. apple slices, unpeeled and cored (red cooking variety)
Brown pork chops in non-stick pan; set aside (omit this step if in a hurry). Place in a slow cooker half of onion rings, garlic flakes, sauerkraut, apple juice, caraway seed, salt, thyme, and pepper; add pork chops. Place the remaining half of ingredients on top of chops; top with apple slices. Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.

didnot find it with sourkraut this was as close as i could come.
Savory Apple Pork Chops serves 4
INGREDIENTS
4 pork chops
salt and pepper to taste
2 apples, sliced thin
1/4 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons brown sugar
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place pork chops in a foil lined 9x9 inch baking dish and season with salt and pepper to taste. Arrange the sliced apples over and around the chops and brush all liberally with the ketchup. Then sprinkle with the brown sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 to 45 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

4 pork chops, 1/2 inch thick and trimmed

2 lbs. loin pork chops
1/2 c. tart apples, chopped
2 tbsp. butter
1 (16 oz.) pkg. sauerkraut
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 onion, thinly sliced
1/2 tsp. caraway seed
2 bay leaves
1 can Campbells onion soup
Saute pork chops and apple in butter, move to a casserole dish. Drain sauerkraut. Place on top of pork chops. Sprinkle brown sugar over sauerkraut then onions, caraway seeds, bay leaves and onion soup. Bake in 350 degree oven, covered for 1 hour.
