You have obviously chosen not to follow some parts of the bible, but, isn't that like saying that you are "Kind of pregnant"? There aren't any grey areas... so, how do you know what to follow, and what not to? Or are you just eliminating the things that make you look even worse than you already do?
Seriously, if you believe one part of the bible, shouldn't you believe all of it? Or none of it? Doesn't that just prove that you know the bible is crap? Or are you blind to that too?
How do you chose?

The bible DOESN'T condradict itself? *Laughs*
EX:
Matthew 22:37 says "Love the lord, your god, with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind."
BUT
Matthew 10:28 says "Be AFRAID of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell."
AND, John 4:18 says "There is no FEAR in LOVE, but Perfect love casts out fear."

How can you follow a book that contradicts itself on every other page, or the fools that idiotically insist that there are no contradictions because somebody told them so?

If you are referring to the Laws of the Old Testament, they are no longer necessary to follow in daily living, such as the animal sacrifices, etc. because Jesus fulfilled the law with His death on the cross. Otherwise, there is nothing in the Bible that is "crap" and I cannot imagine anyone actually believing that it is. I believe that the entire word of God is worthy of study, and is worthy to be followed. Exactly what part of the Bible do you think I'm not following? I mean, do you know me? I don't think so, any more than I know you. Therefore, you have no right to say that I am not following the entire word of God.
I do believe that someday soon the entire world will know that the Word of God really is true, and the world will have no choice but to believe that God is exactly Who He says He is. I pray you learn the truth before it is too late...
Sincerely,
A Christian who believes the Word of God and lives it...

You believe the Additional Details part of your question points out contradiction. It does not. The problem is in the way you translate what is written to your own understanding.
The old testament, or the first covenant, totally submerged a nation under the laws that must be followed in order to be united with God. Interpretation must be literal in order to follow those laws, but the intent or purpose must be understood by proper application of life experiences and expectations. While it is proper to say the law forbids killing, the reason it is forbidden is by realizing that God is love. The nation that received the laws was not capable of living faithfully by it. Nor is any nation today.
Knowing this, God entered into a second covenant with man. All requirements of law were fulfilled by Christ and the salvation he earned was extended to those who believe in him. Now understand this well. Anyone who does not accept Christ is still under law as regards salvation.
It is impossible for a third party to unite the first and second covenants by making claims of superiority in a proposed legal interpretation of the second covenant while maintaining both contained errors. It is nothing but subterfuge.
If you wish to understand the good news of Christ you must turn your back on the falsehood that controls you. Turn to Christ. Ask him for forgiveness.Give yourself to him.

Life seems to be made up of seeming contradictions so we have to get used to that and see the context of the scriptures to see when to use what. Without the spirit though, I say good luck. The bible has a spiritual side that is largely ignored. It was written in the Mid-East. The West is more left brained, literal, while the East is more right brained and spiritual. We have to use our whole brain. We call that intuition. The Bible calls it "the spirit of truth", "the helper", the "still small voice". Some wit will say you have to listen to voices. Well, yeh, you do. Your common sense, sixth sense and a slew of other words.

Listen dude Christianity in general is "crap". But it isn't crap because some parts of the bible make sense and some dont.
I am Wiccan and I completely agree with it other than the reincarnation part, but I am still Wiccan. We all have our own different spiritual path to follow. What you believe in is alright
as long as you hurt no one and be open minded.
oh and I probably will be reported for saying this but Christianity is:
The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

You should follow the whole bible...not just the parts that suit you. This is one of the reasons why I chose to study w/Jehovahs Witnesses. They are the only ones I have met that literally try to live their lives according to whats in the Bible..All the way, not part of the way...I have known so called Catholics, Baptists that curse, smoke, do drugs, commit adultery, fornication, cheat lie et et.. but say they are christians & as long as they go to church on Sun. & ask for forgiveness its ok for them to continue to do these things...wrong wrong wrong, hypocritical if u ask me !! I have never seen a Jehovahs Witness do any of these things...people can say what they want about them, but you cannot call them hypocrites because they dont do these things because the bible tells you to abstain from all these things!

It does not contradict you most understand what it means. When Jesus said "fear" G-d he means respect G-d and the things of G-d. When John says there is no fear in love he means no tormenting fear.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.

The 'BIBLE' was written to different people in different times, "But in these last days has spoken to US through His son Jesus Christ".
That is the NEW TESTAMENT... None of it contradicts itself, and you don't have a clue what the Bible teaches or says.
Your Mommie told you to not cross the streeet when you were pre-school, but when you became grown, your rules changed. Your Mommie didn't.
Such immature thinking has to be from an unbeliever.
May you soon gain some wisdom and information that is relavent before discussing what you don't know.

I don't follow the parts that apply to women, I'm a man. I read those parts, and try to understand what they say, and I believe they're correct, but I don't pretend to understand. Just because it's in the book, doesn't mean you have to do it. (This answer has nothing to do with gender confususion, or gay issues. I'm just saying we're all different, with the Bible in common. In God, we can trust each other)

We should follow everything the Bible says.
2 Timothy 3:16, 17 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
Why would God want something in the Bible that isn't for our benefit? It wouldn't make any sense.
