Just because she is your sister doesn't mean that you have to disrupt your household or do without in order to help her. You have a household and a life, too.
Now, if you don't mind watching her kids, but are afraid of the pay drop, would she be willing to give you the difference? After all, you aren't watching the kids while she is in surgery - this is for her and her husbands recreation. If they can to away (good for couples to do) on a trip, they should be able to make sure that you don't take any losses.
Otherwise, if it is a matter of 2 too many children, go ahead and tell her, "No." Explain the situation and that you just can't do it. She is your sister, not your owner. She should respect you as an adult and a parent, as you would her.

If you sister is willing to return the favor in the near future so that you and your husband can have a four day get away, try your best to make it work. Do you have a family friend, mother or in-law that could help out just a little? This is a tough call, but us sisters really have to take care of each other. As long as this is not somthing she does with no care for you. Try your best to make it work.

This is too much to ask from anyone ,sister or not .she shouldn't be placing such a burden on you . That is taking advantage .Tell her you and your husband are going with them on vacation and you would like her to spring for the sitter for all 5 kids . I'm sure she owes you one . If not tell her you have jungle fever and are very contagious.

you just do. i'm sure you feel guilty b/c she's your sis but, she of all people should realize how hard this would be for you. don't look for an excuse. tell her the truth. you just can't handle it. i used to sit for my brother's kids even though i didn't want to b/c i felt bad if i didn't. i finally told them that babysitting was not my thing. it was to hard for me to have all that going on around me. to much activity made me wacko. he understood and there were no problems.

Apologize for the inconvenience and say you can't. Offer a suggestion for a babysitter and give them some money for the trip. Not that much, just enough to confirm your apology.

Just tell her that you love her and would like to help but that it would mean that you would have to take time off from work and can not afford to do that. Tell her that you are sorry but she will have to find someone that has the time to do it.

My sister-in-law use to hire professional nanny's to watch her kids when they went away. Tell her to look some up and you will check on them occassionally.
