For the last 5 years or so I havent been drinking any water at all. I know recommended is 8 cups a day. But i do drink orange juice and gatorate, etc so im not dehydrated. But i dont even drink 1 cup of regular water, ill be lucky to have 1 sip of water a week. My questions are if im not drinking water how am i still able to survive? does the body take the water from gatorate or orange juice and use it for the body? What would be the disadvantages of not drinking water at all? Would it cause any problems? If someone drinks 8 cups of water a day what advantages would they have? is there any noticeable signs that you arent drinking water thx

Yes your body is getting water from the liquid sources that you've mentioned. Being dehydrated is not fun nor funny. Some lady died because all she drank was gatorade during an extreme marathon. Her brain got too much sodium. I would suggest cutting the gatorade in half with water.
I am the same way, in a way. I spend a lot of time in the desert for military reasons and drank nothing but coffee ost of the time. I had to tell the younger soldiers not to do what I do. I have witnesses soldiers who were dehydrated and now they're damaged for life.
I got sick once and went to the hospital and asked for an I.V. just in case.
Drink some water for the hell of it just in case dude.

As long as you get enough water by any source, orange juice, gatorade, and in your food, you are ok.

8 glasses of water is not a magic formula. As long as you are not dehydrated you are getting enough liquids.

The only advantages to water over other drinks is 0 calories and no sugar.

For every bottle of gatorade you drink you should drink the same amount of water. The electrolytes and minerals in gatorade can be stored in your system and create problems with your normal balance. You need the water to flush the unnecessary amounts away.
The water keeps you hydrated, helps your organs function better, helps keep your skin clear, helps flush waste from your body. Yes, your body gets water from other liquids and from food but has to work to get it- drinking plain water makes it readily available for use!

Yes it will...and I think that it is very worrying that you are proudly boasting about neglecting such an imperative health requirement. Water purifies the body, organs and constantly gives the cells fresh oxygen so that they can continue to duplicate. If you are not receiving any water intake, this means that your sugar levels are increasing unchecked, toxins are building up in your body and your skin is not getting the water which it needs to remain fresh. Although you may not have experienced any problems hitherto, unless you want to start experiencing problems later in life and want to age quicker than normal people, i would strongly suggest that you start drinking water.

Look at the color of your pee

It should be a pale yellow or clear

If it's dark yellow or smells funny drink more water.

I don't drink anything but water or juice and since i've been doing it i've lost a lot of weight. I can also run faster.

When you get sick be sure to drink plenty of water or gatorade.

And if you need help getting enough water then use crystal light or instant iced tea.

Water cleans out your system, while juice dumps sugar into your system. Your kidneys may become damaged and prone to making stones if you do not start to drink water.

Water is found in everything you eat, especially if you eat lots of fruits and veggies. You really should drink water on it's own though.
