My son is three and he has taught me to be selfless. I used to be somewhat selfish as many people are in certain ways, and I don't even mean it in a negative way. Once he came along though I have learned what it means to be selfless.
He has also taught me to look at things with wonder. I love to see him discover new things and sometimes I discover them again with him.
It is a tough job being a parent at times, but also it is full of some many great rewards.

Yes, I have learned from my daughter. Even through the frustrating times, I see the beauty when she learns and starts to say and do things that bring me back to my childhood. It seems perfectly natural for me, anyway, to fulfill this circle of life. I've also noticed that between the ages of say 2 to 4, children are very accepting of everyone. They have not learned the "adult" ways of prejudice and discrimination. If we could all view the world as a child with complete innocence and treat each other back as a child with complete innocence and acceptance, the world would be a better place.

All the things I loved as a kid ARE cool. Watch what you say, they will remember. Dirt in not as toxic as one would think. Love grows at an exponential rate. Hide fudge. Pictures are so important. Cats don’t like parachutes. Sushi doesn’t mean as soon as it is off the hook. Hospitals are more scary now. I hope some of these help, got many more

I have learned a lot from my kids and their friends. They have taught me about friendship, they have huge fights with their friends, but then they always forgive each other and move on. I wish more adults were like that, adults seem to hold grudges more. They have also taught me to laugh everyday, and see the value in letting loose and having fun, (without drugs or alcohol).

I don't have any children but spend time with my under 5 year old cousins.

They show me what it means to forgive and forget. If you get hurt, you get hurt, get over it and move on. People make mistakes. AND... that it's good to have fun and act like you're 5 years old again every once in a while. :-)

I don't know where to start. With my Oldest Daughter-
unconditional love, how to diaper a preemie, what all
types of jeans are and if they look good on me, positive
attitude again, look deep inside, joy and forgiveness.
My Son-Unconditional love, happiness, patience, look
deep outside, what a hero is, great clothes and don't look back look forward. I am blessed with both.

I've learned how God feels when we disobey him and how stubborn we can be. I've learned to check not just my actions but my heart. Some children do and say things to get selfish wants. I've learned to question what I am doing and what reasons I am doing it for..

We had a murder in my family. Although I am opposed to the death penalty, my daughter, who was in the third grade at the time, said the most profound thing. She said "If we excute them, they win. They turn us into killers too." She taught me more that day than at any other time.
