Adam and Eve?

Question

How can two people (Adam and Eve) populate the Earth? According to biology this is genetically impossible...incest ultimately leads to developmental defects.

In order for it to be incest as you say, Adam and Eve would have had to have been brother and sister, which they were not. God said, it was not good for man to be alone, so he formed a woman and gave her to him to be his helper. Adam's first child, Cain, found his wife in outside the Garden of Eden, in a place called Nod If there were only Adam & Eve, and their son Cain, where did Cain find his wife? After Cain was born, then came his brother, Abel. Do you honestly think God, that the same one who forms blood and bones, the creator and inventor of all genetics, didn't know exactly how to start creation?

Every thing God created was good and to benefit man, No matter how God went about doing it, and since both good AND evil exist int the world, I guess there will always be somebody trying to pervert it.

two people didnt populate the earth, a whole new civilisation materialised from nowhere with no explanation, long before the red sea parted. and it was only cain who went to meet and greet these newbies cos he had already killed his brother (i think)

but the story is about the spread of evil in the world. cain, the evil one kills his brother and goes oput and does his thing. the story has the same structure as with noahs ark story, where the raven goes out and doent return. the dove is the symbol in the story for jesus, sending forth peace into the world. am i making sense?

i feel these two stories are structure the same, ok i havent looked at these stories for a long time and now i get confused about the order of events

What do you call Autism, Metal and Physical problems, Parkensen, MD, and other things like that. dont you think they might have come from the fact of Adam and Eve? see. but thats not the way i look at it. Adam and Eve were able to have children by the power of God. and though that power, God made it possible. See? everything happens for a reason.

#1. With God anything is possible. #2 its not like Adam and Eve are everyones parents, they have children who have children who have children. Technically in the eyes of God I don't think its considered incest he created them as two seperate people. #3. Your the one that needs to take biology again. Its only like a .02% that when you breed with someone your related to that its going to lead to development defects in your child. So I suggest you get your facts straight and learn to stop doubting God.

Exactly. They can't. The Bible is fallible. Adam and Eve supposedly had only two children(sons), Cain and Abel. Cain finds his way to another tribe and takes a wife within that tribe. The missing piece of the story is where this other tribe originated from. Biblical stories are usually best not taken literally.

Exactly man. It's a metaphor for how the human race began and why we must toil to live etc. . Ancient writers were very metaphoric. Any scholar of ancient lit. can tell you that. It the ignorant evangelical christian point of view that says science applies to everything except where it conflicts with bible. That's the only way they can defend their literal interpretation of the bible (when it suits their goals and reinforces their beliefs) It's also how they explain things they don't or won't understand, just like the Greeks and Norse with thier myths.

The book of genesis is meant to be read on a figurative, not factual level. God doesn't promote incest! This is just a story to help people understand the love and care and time God devoted in his work of creation.

God works in mysterious ways. What he originally planned for mankind went astray with the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden and ever since, the world has gone forward obtaining collective consequences of mankind's collective sins.

well..it never did say wether Adam and Eve were or weren't related...according to the bible, Adam was made of dirt, and Eve was made of Adams rib. Are those possible?
