Video Poker is a great game. I play it at the casinos all the time. The best way to win is to find the machines with the best pay schedules. Also you can read books about video poker and go to videopoker.com and practice, practice, practice!!!!!

I sure wish I knew the answer to that one!!!! I love to play, but I had to quit. In the long run it will break you. If you play and win, take the money and RUN. Never go back. Now you are a video poker winner.

I have actually been dealt a royal flush in video poker, but it wasn't anything that I did. The machine had the right combination of whatevers to decide that I was a winner.

My theory is that you are looking for the machine that is trying to pay you. Some machines are paying, some are not.
I think that being able to identify this takes practice. In my experience in a jacks or better machine getting hands of straight or better usually means the machine is paying. Getting repeated hands of 2 pair and 3 or a kind then I am leaving.
Another factor to look at is the payouts. These different from machine to machine. Look at the odds for flush and straight. Typical machines that you will see on the vegas strip are going to be 8 for flush, 5 for straight.Look to try to play better odds.
Last time in vegas I found some machines that were paying 11 for a flush and 7 for straight. I will not say where, but I can tell you that it was not on the strip.
