well, after my latter ferret sadly died, my dad said no more caged animals, which took me awhile to get over :( they are like kittens that never grow up.
so i've started thinking about a cat. my birthday is in september, and i want to ask my parents for a kitten. i've had a lot of cats before and the reason we stopped having cats as pets was because my dad is REALLY allergic to pet dander. we have a toy poodle, bcuz they don't shed. i was wondering if anybody knows a good many cats who don't shed, besides a sphynx (hairless cat).
anything will help, thanks!

also, i don't like the choice of letting it be an outside cat, bcuz they always wind up getting run over. we live in a very busy part of Mobile.

Ok. Get a short hair.((Burmese)) And promise you'll brush it often, you'll do it in a room with the door closed, and then run the vacuum. and you'll clean the litter box.

It might convince your dad to give it a try. He must know how he will benefit, and that you are willing to take care of it.

And,keep your car indoors. Less chance they will get fleas.

Good luck.

((PS I told my daughter i didn't want to see her bring a cat into the house. She brought it home when I was at work. So, I didn't see her bring in into the house. ))

Wow, I'm sorry that your dad has allergies. I think you better wait until you get your own place. Allergies make people miserable and it's the dander on cats that cause the allergic reactions, not the hair.

Devon Rex has less dander and are nice cats; Siamese and
Oriental Shorthairs are also less than domestic cats.
My vet says cats live longer inside the house./

Siberian cats are hypo-allergenic........not to be confused with non-allergic. Most people with allergies to the FEL-D1 protein in the cat's saliva that dries as dander can tolerate a Siberian.

Oh sure! each and all of the time lol, it makes me bounce up with fright and convey regret (cats call) and then I understand it extremely is in basic terms between the cats rubber balls that i'm stepping on. it is so humorous while that occurs! lol
