I just watched a 9/11 movie and it struck me- how can someone be so evil to say that they are killing thousands of people in the name of God? How and why? This is pure horror to me and completely astounding.

Ya- I know Christians killed people as well- they killed for riches and glory, but these people kill in the name of God for hatred. I am a Christian and I regret the Crusades- if I could go back and do anything to make it better, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I want to know what's going on in their minds because to solve a problem, you have to first know the cause.

I think those people are evil.
Lets think, cold is the absence of heat. Same as black is the absence of color. White is every color.
Evil is the absence of God. These people were evil because they didn't know God and took out their frustration by killing.
Christians practice handing over their problems to Jesus for Him to solve them.
See my point?
I agree with you.

It is not in the name of the true God and his son Jesus! Jesus said to treat others like you would like to be treated and to love our enemies (which can be very hard sometimes!). If you look at most hospitals and places that help the poor you will find names like St. Joseph or Salvation Army and can see the difference! There have been many Christians that said one thing and acted another too but they can be seen by their actions (or known by their fruit if you want the Biblical terms)
The large majority of the followers of that God are good honest peace loving people BUT there are the radicals in the world like the ones that wanted to kill their fellow Afghan for converting to Christianity and celebrated the attack on that killed thousands.
Read up on their prophet and see what his life was like. In the surah it says that converts are to be given a chance to change back or be killed, that they are not to be friends with Jew or Christian (Surah 5 I believe). He was married to over 10 wives including one that was just 7 or 8 years old, the conquering of Mecca, Battle with the Quraiza, raiding caravans etc. etc.
As for the crusades if you bother to look up the history it all started when Jerusalem was conquered and the Christians pilgrims were denied acces or outright attacked. By the time the Crusades had actually started the ownership had changed again to another group but once you get a war started it is alot harder to stop.. just ask George Bush.

Just don't fool yourself into believing that muslims are the only ones who have done it. Take a good long look at the history of christianity sometime.
Seriously, although religion may be somewhat of a factor with terrorists, it has alot to do with making a political statement also. The media promotes the idea that the terrorists hate us because we're a "christian nation" and we have freedom ... and I'm not saying that's not true, but many more hate us because of our actions. Playing on religious differences makes us look more "squeaky clean" then looking at the real issues does.

Radical antisecularism is scary.
The first key to understanding it is to realise it isn't a religious movement, it's a movement against SECULAR CULTURE that transcends religions.
Before Sept. 11th, there were Tim McVeigh and Eric Rudolph.
Believe it or not, it's often jealously at the heart of it- young men with no money and no prospects killing people they see as rich.

Dude.... what about when Xians wiped out half of the population way back when on their crazy crusades... Pffff some religion indeed.
Im not a muslim and i dont have anything against their religion.
And well about killing in the name of god or so called jihad...supposedly thats just a misunderstanding of the Koran.
Just like the bible has multiple flaws.

When you ignore people right to exist some of them will think they will exist after they do like 9/11. After Iraq war there will be many 9/11s.

You haven't read your Old Testament recently. Slaughtering thousands of people in the name of god, in fact ordered to do so by god, was commonplace. I doubt if the Old Testament Fundamentalists would view such godly activity as evil but if the activities on September 11 were evil then so is god.

Thousands of people have killed and have been killed in the name of various Gods-most notably the Christian God. This should not be such a surprise.

You won't believe but President Bush had a lot to do with 9/11. He was given information about a terrorist attack... he knew a war would fill his pockets. And he did nothing. How evil is that?

Not so astounding when you consider the measure of their ignorance. Religious history though will show that there have been many ignorant fanatics acting in the name of some God.
p.s. ~ and I'd really like to know if DZE believes our government perpetrated this act to expand its presence in the middle east, or anywhere else in the world for that matter.
