When I make homemade beef stew I make serve it with warm dinner rolls or big chunks of bread to soak up some of the broth with and a salad.

beer bread I think is the best for taste and texture.
Beer Bread
3 cups self-rising flour*
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 (12-ounce) can of beer
1. Preheat oven to 375*F (190*C). Lightly grease or spray a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Combine all ingredients, mixing well.
3. Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake for 1 hour.
Makes 1 loaf.
*Or you may substitute with 3 cups all purpose flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt.

Biscuits go great with beef stew. I cheat and use Bisquick (recipe's on the box). Enjoy with a nice glass of red wine!

Cornbread.....yummmmm. Or biscuits. Stew has everything in it, doesn't need any more side dishes.
