In Gran Cayman plan to spend a day at the beach. They have a lovely beach area called 7-mile beach and you can easily get a taxi or shuttle bus to the beach right at the pier. No need to pay the cruise line for a tour when you can get a taxi/shuttle for about $5-7.00 each way. The beach has showers and changing areas as well as a place to buy snacks and souvenirs.

What I recommend in Ocho Rios is a rafting trip on the Martha Brae. Its a nice trip that takes about 4 hours from ship to river and back to ship. The tour will stop at a roadside market so you can buy souvenirs or you can wait until you return to the port where there are shops and market. There is no need to go into town, unless you want to live dangerously. The alternative trip which may be offered by takes longer is to Dunn's River Falls. Its a tour where you go in swim wear and climb up a water fall. Its one of the prime attractions in Jamaica.

I have been to Grand Cayman last year. It was okay. The island was clean, but the people were not real friendly. We took an island tour that was about 2.5 hours. It was nice, but I would not do it again. If you like diving or beaches, that is the best thing to do there. I have not been to Ocho Rios, but I have been advised that it is not the safest place to be.
Be very careful where you go. And if you want an excursion there, book it off of the ship. I know several people who have been stranded there because there tour guides would not take them back to the ship before it departed, or charged them like $100+ to take them back.

Why not go to the public library and get a cruise tour book on the various ports? You would find out that the island is called Jamaica and the other are the Cayman Islands.

Do you know which of the Cayman Islands you are sailing to? Do you know the name of the town the boat is visiting in both Cayman and Jamaica? These are all things you want to know before going on the cruise. Find out what they are known for - by reading books before you go.

and I have been to the Grand Cayman it is very nice and clean, I loved just walking around we also took a cab tour of the Island and yes saw the rock formation named Hell that is ok worth the pun if you want, but I liked seeing the Island itself, there is a small turtle farm too and it is interesting, and if you want we did not go there is also stingray city

On Grand Cayman take the Stingray city excursion. After 4 cruises it is still my favorite one.

Definitely go on the Stingray excursion and swim with the stingrays and snorkel. That was an awesome adventure and one worth repeating.
