I get what it means to xtians on a religious level. But its myth, it's writers did'nt even know Jesus. Most was written and assembled, By MAN, hundreds of years after his death. Im not saying that doesnt have some historical significance, considering it is the basis for some of the most horrific bloodbaths in history, but its not a text book, or a school book, or in any way completley factual. Do people really think that it was written by god, thru man? Really?

The things you are saying are simply false.
The testimony of the books themselves are that they are the work of eyewitnesses or those who spoke with eyewitnesses.
Consider the words of John:

"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ." (I John 1:1-3)

and again:

"The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe."
John 19:32-35

or Luke's statement:
"Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught."
Luke 1:1-4

Indeed, a good portion of the Book of Acts, written by Luke, is narrated from the position of an actual participant in the events being described.

Really, why do you suppose you know so much about the subject when it is apparent you are really very ignorant of your topic?

It was authored by God and written by men as secretaries would do today. Science and history has proven time and again the truthfulness of the Bible.

Despite the many who yell loudly how wrong this or that is, why does it seem those people seem to crawl away into the shadows when the Bible is proved true. When they say a man or thing never existed, just another myth, and somebody digs up a pot or tablet with the name or receipt from them; suddenly, they are not talking any longer!!!

Don't you think a powerful God who took 1600 years to write the Bible using 39 people as secretaties, would be able to preserve it? Yes they were a collection of 66 books and letters of different lengths. They were brought together. Todays translations virtually match the oldest manuscripts word for word. Do you really think that is just man's doing? Dr. Phil could not get by without a re-write!

You're asking for a level of abstract thinking most people are uncomfortable with. Say "myth" and most people think "lie". Literalism is more reassuring, especially the further you are from the event. So rather than consider the meaning behind the account, we focus on the names, the places, the accessories, the timelines. We iconize the data, and Bible knowledge begins to resemble a trivia contest more than a moral compass. People are evaluated by their religious brand affiliation, not their actual character or behavior.

People invest a lot of emotional force in their religious certainties, and when those certainties collide with reality, mayhem usually results.

It was inspired by God through men.
It is sixty six books.
Myths are religions in which no one any longer believes.
Millions believe the bible.
There have been plenty of other horrific bloodbaths in history that have nothing to do with God or religion. Men are to blame for the horrific bloodbaths not God. There is no such a thing as HOLY war.

Many religious people do not believe the bible was written by God but by others who knew and served him-observed his works and heard his sermons. True the bible is full of contradictions and murder etc but anyone who deeply be lives in the bible either ignore or view those events as God's lessons- that is why the movie Devinci Code created such a storm because it depicted God as a human not a heavenly body. I know people who will sit and wait for God to fix everything instead of working on their problems. As the saying goes God may have given a brain but he doesn't do the thinking. I guess everyone wants to believe in something and some pick the bible and some picked Jim Jones.

Most of the accounts of Christ were written by eyewitnesses. In fact, they were published so near to the time of Jesus' life that many of the people who saw Jesus and knew about his life were alive to see these books published. Don't you think they would have objected if the facts were seriously messed up?

I find it truly amazing that the Bible is composed of 66 books, written by around 40 different authors over a time span of almost 2000 years.... yet all the books still seem to have one common theme!

I've got lots more to say on this topic, but know that nobody likes to read those really long answers. If you'd like to learn more, please email me and I'd love to help you out.

Take the first 5 books... if as claimed God spoke face to face with Moses as chief editor of the lead off 5 books... the Torah... yes one would reasonably conclude the Bible in its original is without error and cannot err..

of course Jesus back from the dead said "foolish men and slow of heart NOT to believe all the prophets have spoken" so the eyewitness accounts of Jesus dying and being raised do provide additional evidence for scriptural integrity

as does fulfilled prophesy and as does archeology and as does the strong textual integrity of both old and new testaments

Just one of the millions of examples. Daniel the prophet told the Babylonian king about how the great city would fall. The account names the name of the general, Cyros, how they would block the river and enter the city while the babylonians were intoxicated. This, seventy years before the event. Archeologists have carbon dated everything, and are still baffled by that one. Prophesies my friend, prophecies make the Bible what it is.

By your same argument, I guess we shouldn't beleive any thing we've read about Cleopatra becasue we didn't know her and people that write about her today never met the woman... if she was a woman!

Mark 10:15
"Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it."

Ephesians 2:8,9
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God not because of works, lest any man should boast.

By the grace of God we are able to understand what the Bible says and we must accept it like children...
