I'm babysitting a 3 yearold and 5 yearold for 12 hours a day and for 3 days so I need to figure out what to do with them to keep them entertained and such, no TV or videogame stuff they're too smart for that but what activities or things could they do or I do with them? Any suggestions or help of any kind?

I advice you to take them running in the park as well as walking. The kids will enjoy outside especially a sunny day. You can play a hide and seek game as well. If you go to the park in the afternoon then they will settle down at home for a quick nap. you will have a short free time to plan more activities as such reading out loud and playing a boarding game. They also can learn how to paint and draw pictures. you can have a simple craft for them to do. Make everything as fun and relax at the same time. Kids this age like to express themselves by talking. I urge you to make them learn how to be creative and kids can lead you in a positive way. Remember kids now are very smart and you can ask them about the environment issue like Global warming and I am sure this topic can keep them talking for and hour without doing extra work. i am so glad to hear a positive babysitter like you who wants to make smart kids better for the world instead of allow them to play video game and watching TV all day. Good luck.

Here are some awesome recipes that are non-toxic and from my pre-school book.

Ivory snow paint:
1 cup of warm water
1/2 cup of Ivory Snow (flakes or powder) soap
Whip to merangue consistency and you can add sparkles or color.

Wiggle Glue
My kids love this:

Container #1 mix 1 tbs of Borax powder with 1 litre of warm water and set aside.(Borax is an all natural soap used in the old days that is completely safe)
Container #2 mix equal amounts of Elmer's White School Glue and warm water until you have enough liquid #2 for each child to have a small amount. (must be school glue because ordinary white glue won't work)
For each child pour some liquid #1 into a clear plastic cup so that they can see the reaction and and equal amount of liquid #2 into another cup. Allow the children to mix the liquids together and stir with a spoon.

Store in a sealed container so it won't dry up.
You can add food coloring to liquid #2.
All these are safe and easy to clean up, just don't get it near the carpet.
It is a great learning science project they will love.
Good luck and have fun!

do you have a children's museum in your area? or a zoo?
make a children's garden with them....let them pot some plants and watch them grow over the summer, they would be able to take care of them everyday by watering.
contact your local library and ask if they have anything going on over the summer...our library here has something going on everyday for free! story times and crafts. They also have a reading club for kids of all ages...you read to them and they get prizes for the time spent reading. the Internet is a great reference for games, projects, science experiments and places to take kids.
the local pool....contact the parks and recreation in your area as well. They may have daily park activities and open swim hours.
Have fun!

A big puzzle that takes three days to finish. That will keep them pretty busy. For the 3 and 5 year old, you could give them an easier puzzle.

Crafts are always fun. You can find ideas in Kid Concoction books. My mom always did stuff like that with my brother and me.
