People for the most part do not like to admit that they are wrong. Those who are at one time religious and listened to other ideas and changed are sincere people with the ability to admit wrong and learn from it.
Also there is a group of people who may actually realize that there is no god but do not want to lose the acceptance of the religious society.
Then you have those who would never admit that they no longer believe because they love feeling self righteous. Their peers look up to them and it feels soooo good.
Of course I am looking at this from an Atheistic point of view. I used to be a believer. I changed my mind.

People are resistant to change of any kind except for the most obvious things such as winning a lottery.
If you change family and friends will become alienated. It requires a strong will, and a superior intellect which excludes over 90% of all Americans.

Your religious belief or religious belief is something you are born into. It is passed from parent to child and is enforced through community and social structures. Your beliefs concering people, places and things are also handed down to you in this manner.
Often people that change their beliefs outside of that belief that they where taught experienced something positive or negative that changed their minds on their current belief.

So many people have it in their heads that they're right and don't want to admit defeat that a complete change in beliefs would be against their character. They want proof right before their eyes and refuse to believe that things are in simplicity and that beauty lies in the ordinary.

I think the question is why would you want to change someones belief? You are yourself, not the other person, let them think for themselves. You can show them as much as you want of what you believe but in any way do not force it upon them.

Emo is a slang term used to describe a subculture; the term comes from the word "emotional". Emo is best known for its fashion style and attitude, which are said to have come from emo music. Although the origin of emo music is difficult to pinpoint, it is suggested that it's a derivative of the punk scene which was popular in Washington DC in the late 80's[1]. The culture continued to develop through the 90's and into the new millennium, reaching the height of its popularity to date.

Because the true believers don't show enough love to unbelievers to make them say :"What must I do to be saved ?"
